One of the best in the locality
I had to travel to travel to Hannover for a conference and stayed in H4, Lasse. The way the hotel has thought through even small things in the room and in the boundaries of the hotel, I think they really stand out. Starting from the reception, bar, restarant, assistance during conference, kitchen - staff is really courteous and polite. In all the touchpoints, I see a higher quality compared to the average across other hotels.
I see a great quality even in basic things like cofee and tea. Good quality espresso machine is provided in the room with two varieties of coffee capsules. Tea bags are of great quality and I see a different kind of design for the first time in the tea bags. They have a very decent sized fridge with enough room for our own stuff as well. I like the number of power points in the room.
When it comes to the restaurant there is a great variety of food. If you like cereal for breakfast, you wont be disappointed, they have about 8 varieties. Same goes for the juices, salad, meat, and even yoghurt. If they have more bread varieties, that would be really nice, all they have just a small sized white bread. Fruits and mint water are always available at the reception for casual consumption. Being a Vegetarian, I was not expecting a lot of choices, but to my surprise, there were plenty, including my favourite Pasta.
Just outside the conference rooms, plenty of eatables - small snacks are provided along with a good coffee machine and a set of tea bags. The menus never repeat and I have enjoyed tasting different kinds of German sweets, apple pies and so on. They keep quality pens (not pencils) and A4 notebooks (not a small notepad) for the meeting rooms.
A great concise gym is available with a decent set of equipments.
The only thing I missed is that they forgot to book my taxi despite my previous evening notice. Otherwise I didn't have any problem anywhere during my stay.
Overall, H4 really concerned about user friendliness and guest experience. I think they have succeeded in their goals to a large extent. Should I need to come to the same locality, I prefer to...
Read moreFirst of all to inform fellow travelers this hotel is not in downtown Hannover, nor even close to it. It's in the Hannover Messe (fair) area, which suited us perfectly as we were in Hannover for the Motley Crue concert there. From the Messe it's only a 20 min walk, so you don't need a car or public transport. Lobby is big, clean and modern. Check in was fast, but the young blue hair receptionist (cannot remember his name) was unkind just giving us our keys without any additional info (breakfast time, pool hours, parking,...). Everything of those I had to ask him and he gave just brief answers without a smile and seemed just bothered by us - not a welcome expected from H4. Room was nice and clean - comfy beds, coffee maker, clean and fairly big bathroom, satellite TV,.... Breakfast was excellent like always in Germany - plenty to choose from. Minus is for low selection of sweet pastries and automated juice machine. Pool is fair in size and temperature, with good working hours from early morning (7 AM if I remember correctly) so I could get a proper swim without crowds before breakfast. Hot tub also there. Parking is 9 Euros per day in their garage, but we parked our car for free outside. Just pass the hotel for 50 m and at the first roundabout turn right. Not the first, but the second and third parking lot on your left are totally free in front of a residential building. We booked this hotel 7 months in advance (due to concert) and got really a good deal at 115 Euros for a double room with breakfast. Over the time the price rose for more than 50%, being fully booked at the time of our stay, so act accordingly if you know your...

My belongings were taken by the housekeeper, and I explained the situation to different reception staff for about a week, saying "Please tell me your phone number," "I will check with the cleaner," and "I will call your room if I find out anything." I wasted several days as the reception staff changed without any communication. The reception staff wrote that they do not share messages because they are from different companies, but how can they not share messages when they work in the same hotel? They lost things that were not even near the trash can, broke things, and did not apologize. There is no way they would do something like "When I changed the bed sheets..." because the damage was in the same place on the sheets. The housekeeper broke things and took my belongings even though they did not change the sheets, and the hotel staff did not take any responsibility, apologize, or do anything. Absolutely ridiculous.
I came from Japan, this hotel experience has left me with a bad memory of Germany. Their response and response made me feel bad that robots and machines...
