We've had a three nights stay, the room was fine, big, not spacey, but we had one with a balcony and that made it really nice.||Also really appreciated the hotel ensured the room was perfume free, with my MCS exposure can make me very sick. ||Main issue was the temperature [25-28*C which we could not control with the panel.||Later it turned out to be broken. First night hardly slept, we asked assistance next day, the lady said she would fix it from downstairs due to the broken panel. Second night was the right temperature, but... the third and last night was back to hotter temperatures, why? That's two out of three nights being uncomfortable.||Lobby staff was friendly, but we never got to hear a sorry. ||For the price we paid, you expect the room to be cleaned every day. Well I'm afraid not due to lack of staff you needed to ask for it. We decided three nights will be alright and did not request cleaning. Anyway paid full price.||Also meant we had to request extra toilet paper, we got one (!) Why not immediately two? We had to ask again! ||Breakfast: lots of choice and super friendly staff there, always prepared to fulfill a special request. ||Big minus, we did not use Wifi due to it not being password protected. That's is something not...
Read moreThe Looken Inn is a clean and well presented hotel in the centre of this lovely Lower Saxony town. All the staff were very helpful, friendly and all spoke near perfect English, although I did my best with my smattering of German. Breakfast was included in the price and was of the typical European type, ie buffet, although they also had hot scrambled or boiled eggs, mini bratwurst and frikadellen. The choice was impressive. The only issue we had was the German for twin room is the same as a double room (doppelzimmer) so my friend and I shared a double bed instead of the two singles ordered! I'd like to hastily add that we aren't any closer as friends even though we had to share the bed for the weekend! :-) The room itself was very nice indeed with a lovely shower room and even dressing gowns included. Although I do think it was good value for money I do not think they should charge 10 euros per night on top of the bill to park. It is worth mentioning the air-conditioning was stuck on hot which made sleeping slightly uncomfortable but not impossible. Overall, highly...
Read moreThe hotel, staff and food are all lovely, and it’s very well positioned. BUT...||Whoever built it was too keen on using technology for technology’s sake. There are motion sensors in the bedrooms, so you get up in the middle of the night and all the lights come on full automatically, waking up your partner every time.|Recommendation: take duct tape to cover the sensors.||The light switches are digital, and backlit. Far too bright and disturbs sleep.|Recommendation: take duct tape to cover the light switches.||The blue standby light on the tv lights up the whole room.|Recommendation: take duct tape||The air con controller is all digital, and only in German. If someone leaves it on the wrong setting, good luck!|Recommendation: sorry, duct tape can’t help here!||Please, just give me an old fashioned light switch and a...
