Although outside the main city, this friendly little hotel is in an excellent location next to a transport hub (Moosach Bahnhof) and getting around is very straightforward. Our room was clean and spacious, and the external shutters were great for keeping out the morning noise and light. Our host could not have been more accommodating and helpful, speaking excellent English to make up for our lack of German. Nothing was too much trouble and it made our stay all the more comfortable.
As well as the local transport links, if you like walking there is plenty to explore in the area, with the Schloss Nymphenburg and Olympiapark München both around 45 minutes' walk away. There is also a direct bus to Dachau, should you want to visit the Concentration Camp Memorial Site. There are plenty of shops, bars and restaurants locally so you don't always have to travel into the city to get what you need.
All in all, Hotel Ludwig is strongly recommended as a welcoming, clean budget...
