I stayed here for a few nights whilst on business.
The local area is quite nice. It's on a quiet leafy suburban street. It's about a 10 - 15 minute walk into Pasing town centre where there are a few bars, restaurants, shops etc. You can get a train to downtown Munich - Marienplatz etc. from here. It takes approx 15 minutes.
I ate in the hotel a few times and it was quite tasty. The burgers were delicious.
Breakfast was a continental affair with some excellent coffee.
The room itself was very clean but sparsely decorated. Fine for a business trip but maybe not for a holiday. The TV didn't have any English language stations, this was OK as I speak German but, again, this may cause an issue for anyone on holiday.
The beer garden was wonderful and the people serving us were lovely to talk to and really good at their jobs.
My colleague who paid for the rooms on a company credit card commented that he believed that it was slightly more expensive than he would have agreed to pay personally. I would concur, the rate is a little pricey and did not include breakfast (which we didn't realise until we were checking out).
Overall I cannot fault this...
Read moreThis place has a lot of potential. It offers nice and clean rooms. The hotel is also situated in a nice neighbourhood. It has a beer garden.||||The food is quite typically Bavarian. The meat dishes are good, but avoid the fish (too oily and greasy). ||||The staff are quite helpful with the exception of what I think is the owner. This man was like a German Basil Fawlty. He never smiled, made me feel like a nuisance and even disappeared into the kitchen after I paid him for a meal (and by doing so giving himself a tip). Now, some of the waitresses might have deserved one, but this man certainly didn't. He clearly prefers some costumers (the regulars and locals) over others. Offering basic hotels services seemed like gargantuan tasks for him. ||||My conclusion: only visit it if you are Bavarian or if you want to experience Fawlty Towers...
Read moreOne stereotype that abounds about Americans is that we know no other language. This is largely true, but we have found that if you try, people respond well. This is certainly not true of the waitress we met. She had no time for us and our broken German, and when the waiter told us to sit anywhere, we unfortunately sat in her section. Always stand and observe first! She made it clear she wanted to spend no time with us, and she did have a large table of businessmen in her section. It was only by standing up and preparing to leave that we received a bill, after asking twice.||The food ? Quite good, but that is not what we will remember. This is also a hotel, but it won't be on our...
