History: The castle was built between two arms of the River Würm for Duke Albert III, Duke of Bavaria in 1438–39 as a hunting-lodge, replacing an older castle burned down in war. The origin of this castle is a moated castle of the 13th Century. The core of this castle was a residential tower, the remains of which were uncovered in 1981. The fortress was first mentioned in writing only in 1432. Albert's son, Duke Sigismund of Bavaria, ordered extensions of the castle beginning in 1488 and later died here in 1501. The main building became derelict during the Thirty Years War, but was rebuilt in 1680–81. The castle is still surrounded by a ring wall with three towers and a gate tower. The defensive character of the castle, however, was with the reconstruction in 17th Century significantly reduced. The plant was already at that time no...

Schlossschänke Blutenburg offers an idyllic Bavarian experience in the historic Blutenburg Castle courtyard. The rustic-chic ambiance with vaulted ceilings and garden seating feels straight from a storybook. Their menu shines with seasonal Bavarian classics – don’t miss the perfectly crispy pork knuckle or homemade Obatzda with freshly baked pretzels. The attached Schloss Café serves divine cakes and the best Apfelstrudel in Munich.

Why it’s special:

Romantic setting by the castle moat

Hearty regional dishes made with local ingredients

Charming service that makes you feel like nobility

Tip: Reserve a garden table in summer, and pair your meal with a Tegernsee beer. After dining, stroll through the castle grounds – the Gothic chapel is magical at...

Nothing special about this castle. It's no taller than 1 story building and no bigger than 1 football field. It's converted into a beer garden. Inside have just couple of apple trees and an ancient church. The church on the other hand give glimpse of mediaeval times. It won't take more than 5-10 minute to see the whole place.

The outside area is more interesting and worth spending time during sunny days. One can easily circle around the tiny lake. You will find plenty of free benches to rest and...

A former hunting lodge for bavarian dukes in the 13th century. renovated through ages till date. surrounded by lake and trees with a river pass and wooden bridges. designed with towers at the corner and a pyramid roof gate. today consists of the old gothic sryle chapel, restaurant, museum to german writers and a club for friends of the castle. worth the visit if you are in the area and you finished visiting Nymphenburg Castle cause they were one connected with an axial road now covered with trees.

Schon mal WoW! Ob wir was bekommen? P.S. Das Preis/Leistungsverhältnis ist perfekt!
