Hotel Bavaria — Hotel in Oberstaufen

It was our first time in Oberstaufen and did not know what to expect. We were very positively surprised. The village center is just a 10 min walk from the hotel and is very cute, with nice shops of all kinds, nice restaurants. The hotel itself was perfect for our purpose. Nice big family room were we stayed with our 2 sons of 8 and 11. The extra double bed could be easily hidden away, under the main bed, which made the room very spacious during the day. All facilities available in the room. The kids liked a lot the DVD player to watch a nice movie after a cold day on the ski slopes. Nice swimming pool with sauna which is all kept very clean and is open pratically all day until late in the evening. The personal in the hotel was very helpful and you can really feel the "family run" mentality. Breakfast is served in the morning as of 08.00 in a nice spacious room with lot's of choice. It's a 20 min drive to the Steibis skislopes. The skiing area was a bit dissappointing, when you are used to the "Dolomites", however it was still a nice experience as second skiing holiday. Especially budgetwise as the skipass is included for the full family in the hotelprice. During Carnaval holiday there were lot's of people, so very long queues on the skilifts, several old anchor lifts which with kids are not always easy to take. However the Hoghgratbahn is really worth a visit with it's super long and beautiful skislope. Oberstaufen is nice alternative for people coming from Belgium who want to ski and do not feel like driving 1000 km, from Brussels it just took us a 7 hours drive to get to destination. Almost forget to tell about the lovely Aquaria experience (entrance for free with skipass): a big complex with swimming pools, sauna's, and all that goes with it in the center of Oberstaufen. We stayed at this hotel for 5 incredible nights. We had delicious food, nice breakfasts, and a lovely stay at this hotel. The surroundings of Oberstaufen are breath-taking and the amenities of this amazing hotel allowed us to truly enjoy our short vacation. We would wake up and go straight to have some breakfast, afterward, we would enjoy nature, skiing, and play with the kids. In the afternoon we would chat while drinking a free coffee at the hotel, then I would spend some time relaxing at the sauna. To finalize, we would enjoy a great dinner. ||I can just recommend every aspect of this hotel The service is extremely friendly and the owners, Markus and Brigitte, are always helpful and kind. This is a hotel where you can truly relax and enjoy your well-deserved holidays. ||We are coming back to this hotel next year and we are already looking forward to...

Gastgeber, die lieben, was sie tun!!!

Unser Aufenthalt im Bavaria war wirklich herrlich. Wir wurden so herzlich empfangen und haben uns sofort wohl gefühlt. Auch beim ersten telefonischer Kontakt vor der Buchung habe ich schon die herzliche Art gespürt, die dann bei der Anreise nur bestätigt wurde. Familie Schneider UND ihr komplettes Team waren superfreundlich und zuvorkommend. Fragen aller Art wurden beantwortet, es gab immer einen netten "Plausch" und wir haben super Tipps für Lokale in der Umgebung und auch für Ausflüge oder Aktivitäten bekommen.

Unser Zimmer war toll. Wir haben überraschend ein Upgrade bekommmen - danke dafür. Das Zimmer war gemütlich unterm Dach, Zimmer und Bad sauber und gepflegt, wir haben gar nichts von der Straße mitbekommen - es ist eine wunderbar ruhige Lage, die Betten waren sehr bequem, der Balkon mit toller Aussicht und wir hatten eigentlich alles was wir brauchten. Selbst wenn etwas gefehlt hätte, hätten wir es nur zu sagen müssen und wir wurden auch immer wieder gefragt, ob was fehlt.

Der Pool ist toll und man kann sogar ein paar Bahnen schwimmen...leider haben wir den Saunabereich gar nicht getestet (aber angeschaut und er ist ebenfalls toll), weil wir Königswetter mit sehr viel Sonne hatten - geschwitzt hatten wir also schon genug beim wandern ;-) .

Wir hatten jeweils eine Massage bei Bonni Kettner im Hotel gebucht - richtig toll...auch eine Frau, die ihr Handwerk versteht und auf den Menschen eingeht, der da vor ihr sitzt oder liegt :-). Es lohnt sich!!

Das Frühstück ist wirklich super. Wenn etwas aus geht, wird immer wieder nachgelegt. Ich finde es richtig gut, dass nicht Massen an Essen daliegen, die dann vielleicht weggeworfen werden müssen, sondern nach Bedarf und tatsächlich nach Wunsch nachgebraten, nachgekocht oder eben nachgelegt wird. Nachhaltig und toll.

Die Räume (Empfangslounge, Aufenthaltsraum, Frühstücksräume, Terasse etc.) sind liebevoll gestaltet und dekoriert und laden wirklich zum Verweilen ein.

So gibt es noch viel mehr Details, die ich nun vielleicht nicht aufgezählt habe, die aber einen Aufenthalt im Bavaria zu einem Vergnügen machen.

Alles in Allem möchte ich eine klare Emfehlung für diesen wunderbaren Ort aussprechen, denn so eine Art an Gastfreundschaft und Service findet man heute nur noch selten in einem Hotel. -- siehe oben "Gastgeber, die lieben, was sie tun!!!" :-)

Wir kommen auf jeden Fall wieder.
