Arriving at 01:00am. With a key given to us by our runner and the hotel door left open for us. That was our welcome. |Potsdam until the 1980’s was part of the East Germany part of Berlin and it shows. |The hotel is clean and the room utilitarian. ||Beds are comfortable and sheets clean. As with most low cost hotels the pillows leave much to be desired. But folded in half and being up for of 24 hours we hardly noticed. ||The bathroom is a long thin build but everything works and the show was nice and hot. ||My better half went to draw the curtains last night and they really don’t fit the window and are only for declaration. But the roller bonds work great. ||Breakfast is included and is made up of the normal German fare with cold meat and cheese. The Hotel is located in a suburb on the outskirts of Potsdam. For those who, like us, use the car, it is fine to reach the monuments of the center and the Sanssouci complex, or if the place is a useful stop to continue the journey, without necessarily being downtown, where traffic and parking costs they are high. The room was satisfactory both for reception and for size, even in the cleaning. Breakfast excellent and plentiful. Staff available even if it does not shine in sympathy. A typical hotel of the suburb, but with good quality / price ratio. We came here with 3 families to visit family in Potsdam and two families stayed in the family rooms. The rooms were partly updated with minor minus points (leaking shower, broken bathroom door and dated decor in the rooms), however mostly clean. |In the common area the film theme is well executed and the concept runs through even to the music in the background. |The breakfast needs extra mentioning because it is simply outstanding, lots of choice and lots of freshly prepared food and local meat specialities.
