Read moreWhat sets this apart from a normal clean guest house is that it is really well run. So you can be assured that it will be clean, the pool useable for a quick dip and the food will be tasty and delivered promptly. The room had good a/c and WiFi signal, fridge and a TV we didn't try. Breakfast was enough for a good start to the day with omelette, toast, juice and tea or coffee. And the owner who ensures everything runs smoothly and is readily available to help with any questions or sightseeing advice.||||BUTWe also stayed there again exactly a week later. ||WiFi didn't work. Three devices said connected on several of their 3 or 4 networks yet no internet or emails were working. No one could explain why.||We needed a taxi booked for 06.00. 'Ok, it should be OK'. No I need it definitely reserved, confirm it with me later. Nothing in the next hour. I asked again, 'yes, he should be here at six'. No, I want to know he'll be here, its important, not 'should be'.||And eating, food order fine, food OK, the bill? 12 charged for beers which were listed as 10. 'Oh, our menu is wrong'. And why are the burgers and fries charged at 45 where the menu says 35?. Oh the menu is wrong again. In which case amend them, I want the 26 you overcharged me back. Lots of guilty glances and eventually the overcharge is returned. Guess what, the owner wasn't there that night. But its not good enough to be a good hotel only when the...
I had never been to Accra before. I arrived a few days before my tour started and stayed a couple of days after the tour ended. Both times I stayed at the guest house. On both arrivals and leaving Donna was there to greet and help me. I felt welcome immediately. The place has a restaurant with a menu but often there is something special Donna's chef has prepared. I know what I wanted to see on my first visit. Donna arranged a taxi and guide at a very reasonable price to see what I wanted to. The guide was knowledgeable of what I wanted to see and do. I felt very comfortable with him and used him during all my stay. My room was large with an English news station on the TV. I had a nice view of the sea with a balcony. There was a self contained kitchen I didn't use. The bathroom had hot water and amenities. The bed was good and the air condition with a fan both worked well. For my first visit to Accra I was very pleased with my stay here and will use the guest house again when I return to explore the north of the country. Thank you Donna and staff...
Read moreLa paradise inn. In a nut shell I think it’s very expensive for what it is. I would say in European standards it’s a 2star, the rooms are very dated and basic and the staff are so rude, this include the owner who is British Ghanaian.||||I stayed in the hotel in August and I intentionally decided to wait a while before I made this review so that I would give a more reflective and honest opinion. In short spend a little more and stay somewhere nicer, we ended our stay at le Paradise Inn 3 days early because we were sold the dream. This meant we lost a lot of money, (we booked 2 rooms) as the owner wouldn’t refund us for our remaining date , even though booking.com tried to plead our case on our behalf)||||It was also my birthday during the trip, and they knew this as I was the lead booker, but they didn't mention or stay anything on the day. ||We ended up staying at the Kempinsky and yes it was much more expensive but defiantly the highlight of our holiday and worth...
