Was here for lunch. Can actually get food at three places in this hotel, near the pool, at the Jam Rock restaurant, upstairs at the Lucida restaurant, or from the near bar, Joe's Bar. ||||Went to Lucida restaurant, and they had an all you can eat for 100 cedis, for Ghanaian food. . it actually looked quite good, but I asked if they had a set menu too and they had.....actually three menus, from their three places i had mentioned. I ordered a Prime Beef Burger from Joe's Bar menu for a reasonable 60 cedis, as my friend went for the all you can eat.||||My friend was delighted with the food, getting a few good sized portions, and also enjoying the coconut drink that had a hint of alcohol in it too. ||||For me the burger was a big disappointment, it fell apart when i cut it open, looked like it was an old burger with the taste and flavours squeezed out of it. ||||As I ate it fast, and my friend was still eating, I ventured for another dish from Joe's Bar. this time I went for the Fettuccini for 70 cedis . Again good value. The dish took forever to arrive and I had to ask twice about it, taking well over 40 minutes. But to be fair it was off the menu from the bar and it was late in the day..... And when it did arrive I have to say it tasted fantastic, and I really enjoyed it. So much so I was willing to give them a pass for the burger!!! The food was good and we enjoyed eating our lunch here. ||||Afters, we went to the bar proper, Joes Bar, right beside the Lucida, and had a drink and ordered some ice creams, which was also quite good and a reasonable price. ||Overall we had a good time eating out here and the prices of the dishes, beers and all the rest wasnt too bad. ||||Also to add, the guy playing the sax was great and added to the nice atmosphere at...
Read moreMy Luggage was lost. I checked in my luggage at the hotel for safe keeping because my flight departure was at night and had to check out of the hotel by 12:30 PM. At the reception desk I completed a yellow ticket for my bags and return it to the young lady. I asked her if that is all and she said yes and gave me the other half of the ticket. When I returned to pick up my luggage my carry on was missing. I waited 3hrs for the managers to investigate. No one apologized, they offered no water or food. After reviewing camera footage, both of my luggages left the hotel front door with another individual. One of them came back right away while the other left the hotel premises. The hotel was able to find the person. Thank God they have left the country and they placed my bag in an Uber back to the hotel. When my bag arrived back at the hotel after 3hrs of waiting, two male managers still did not apologized for their errors. They basically informed me that I should be great full that I found my bag. The manager told me that it was my fault because I didn’t ensure the hotel completed their task by tagging my bag. He spoke to me using his left hand which is extremely rude in Ghana. I originally took an Uber to the hotel to pick up my luggage to my next destination. The Uber had to leave and when I ask for transportation to my destination after they found my luggage, I was told that « my personal business is not their concerned ». Both managers told me the liability is only 50 cedis and that they did there part and found my luggage. You can only imagine how I felt at this point and my frustration. The customer service was very poor. They failed at every attempt to correct the mistake. I...
Read moreAVOID. Flight back to London was cancelled and airline put us in this hotel at 3am. I asked a member of staff on the front desk if it was possible to get a drink, he told me to follow him, he walked outside the hotel and proceeded to exit the premises, when I asked where he was leading me he said “to town, to buy drinks” bearing in mind it’s pitch black and 3am, I declined. He then said “don’t you want to buy alcohol”, I said no and then he walked back inside and led me upstairs to the restaurant/bar which was 24hours and he could have took me to in the first place. Whilst walking up the stairs he proceeded to tell me how “pretty” I was and how much he wanted me to be his “wife”. As a young woman travelling alone I was so shaken up by this, only God knows what would have happened if I went out into the street with him. I reported him to a manager the next day who seemed to take my complaint very seriously, he listened to me and checked CCTV and also got security to come to me to confirm the identity of the man.. only to find out that he (walk to town man) had lied about his name and given the name of his colleague whilst he was telling me we should walk to town. A few of the other male staff also give creepy (staring at your body) looks and they don’t try to hide it. Solo female...
