I stayed there for two days with a friend of mine. The room is located on a small hill but very near to the Gialiskari beach and all the bars(night life) of Varkouri.||The location of the hotel is quiet and you don't hear any noise from either the street of music from the bars.||You can park your car just below the hotel, but since the parking spots are limited, we often couldn't find a spot to park it.||The room was nothing fancy but it was ok for a two night staying. It had a fridge a small oven, air condition, a small flat tv and a porch which was connected to the other room. On the porch you could sit on the two chairs and eat something on the table that it was provided. The beds were ok, but don't expect the best mattress of the world. The owners were kind enough to provide us the first breakfast (marmalade, butter, four toasts and instant coffee (frappe). It was a very nice gesture (all the above were located the moment we entered the room, meaning that they didn't actually served breakfast).||Three bad things I found in the room were the following: First of all, one night some people just above our room find it amusing to move their beds, chairs and whatever else they could find at 3 o'clock in the morning. They woke me up from all the noise. Although this is not a problem of the hotel, I have to mention it since there is no supervision of the noise people can make.||Second, as you can see from the pictures, the pre-entrance to our room was a bit strange, and to my mind it resemblance the 80's greek style staircase which lead to the boiler. I felt a little claustrophobic and I have a feeling that these two rooms (our and the next) weren't suppose to be there.||Finally, the bathroom. Although hot water was not an issue, it was small and the door had a small problem (see the pictures), since the sink was bigger and they had to cut a small area of the door, in order to function properly. The window of the bathroom was facing the corridor of the other room, leaving you no privacy at all.||||The owners were very kind to us and I have to give them that. They do accept credit card although they are having some problems with their telephone provider (connecting to the bank). Overall, I wasn't thrilled about this hotel and for €50 a night, maybe you could find another...
Read moreThe hotel is a typical small hotel and if you do not have high expectations, you will be fine. The view is really nice from the seating area at the big terrace, but the room we got did not have any sea view. Breakfast was small and absolutely the same every day. All in all, it would have been ok for the price. However, I do not understand how people find the owner "polite". She was anything, but. First, when we arrived, I got the feeling she did not expect us and after some searching, she finally said "ok". Then she said rudely: "you have to wait, your room will be ready in half an hour". And after that she just sat on the patio and had a drink with someone. 15 minutes later she gets up and goes to a room in the corner and starts cleaning it... So we had to wait for her first to finish her drink and then to show some interest in accommodating us. Because she was so rude, when the room was finally ready, she asked us to go to the reception and she put a key in front of me and said: "Your room is ready, some with me" (no "please", nothing). I took the key and I followed her. We went to the room and she immediately said "I have no other room" probably in case we do not like this one. After explaining briefly where we put the key for electricity she left and I saw the room number was different from the key I took from reception. I ran after her and told her: "I might have taken this key by mistake" and then she became really rude. She started asking why (obviously not realizing she put the key in front of me earlier), then started shouting in Greek to some older guy (probably her father), waving her hands - horrible situation. Then she left and didn't care to ask us once how our stay was, she pretended she didn't notice us. Terrible woman - for this reason only, I would never visit her hotel again. I hope she is really nice at least to her other guests. And it was my birthday, which she obviously saw on my ID, but...
