My boyfriend and I went on vacation in Lefkada and we stayed for 7 days at Posidonio B from July 21st to July 28th. ||One big regret I have is not talking with the lady from the reception from the beginning about our stay which was overall disappointing.||||We planned our vacation through a travel agency, so I am not sure whose fault was it for booking us a room on the underground floor. Because of that, we couldn't enjoy the "view" everyone talks about here and the hallway smelled of food and toilet all together and there was no ventilation system to correct that.||||Our room was small with one single bed and a double bed, a very small TV with 8 channels that were doubled so there were actually 4 channels, a kitchenette that we mentioned we did not want, AC, and a small bathroom that had a clogged floor drain, clogged sink and the shower curtains had tints of mildew.||||We had a balcony which anyone could access, and a girl actually opened the latch and entered it to chase on of the cats that were always around the hotel. Hundreds of mosquitoes and flies made it impossible to enjoy our coffee on the balcony and I was surprised to see that around the entrance of the hotel, the lounge and pool area there were no mosquitoes. If the staff did spray the area they missed a spot. :)||We did complain about THIS aspect because I had a bad allergic reaction from the mosquito bites. The guy my boyfriend talked to about the pests did not speak English very well but he gave him a spray which was for all kinds of insects with the exception of mosquitoes, so it really did not help.||||Small things that bothered me: When we first entered the room we found a cigarette bud on the floor. The room was "cleaned" daily and one evening when we came back from Nidri, we found the door unlocked and I did lock it in the morning when we left. The toilet did not have a flush handle and because the mechanism is too hard to describe I'll just say I almost broke my finger trying to flush the freaking toilet. Also, each day when the cleaning lady came she left the balcony door open and of course the mosquitoes and flies would make their way into our room and each night when we came back we had to spend around 1 hour to kill them so we could sleep in peace and avoid more mosquito bites. I had 21 all over my legs, I kid you not.||From the very first day there was a huge grasshopper near our door, each day changing its position throughout the hallway and in 7 days no one took it out, I guess it was the hotel's pet. Another smaller grasshopper in our balcony. I guess they haven't heard of pest control. YES, outside there are insects, I am not stupid to expect otherwise but they are annoying and I think that most people do not want them inside the room they sleep.||||Breakfast was always the same but plenty to choose from: bread of almost all kinds, buns, toast bread etc, a toaster to toast the bread, tomatoes and cucumbers, cheap salami and cheese, yogurt, honey, butter, wannabe cheap marmalade, corn flakes, hard boiled eggs, milk, and the most disgusting and sour orange juice I ever drank in my entire life. Coffee and tea you could get from the bar. We only ate lunch once at the hotel because that was not included in our offer. Very bad spaghetti, acceptable pork steak and potatoes and very cheap jelly as desert.||||One thing I was happy about was the fact that it was quiet, so quiet you could hear the grasshopper in the hallway. The location is very good if you want to stay in a quiet place away from the commotion in the "city" and if you have a car or a motorbike which I saw everyone uses it's perfect. We did not have any of those so we had to walk each day around 15-20 minutes to Nidri. It's not a lot at all but when there are over 100F (38C) outside and the road doesn't offer shade at all it can be annoying to say the least.||||In the end, we were not looking to spend our vacation in the hotel so we did not book a room at a five star hotel with room service, rose petals on the bed and we did not expect "slaves waving palm-tree leafs over our heads". We knew it was going to be an average experience but there are better rooms in that hotel than the one we had and they have a lot to work on to really make it a great hotel worthy...
Read moreFirst of all, I have to say that I should consider the fact that I payed a really low price for this hotel as I purchased a last minute offer from a travel agency. Keeping that in mind, I should give this hotel 3 stars instead of two, but... it wouldn't be fair to the other ones I reviewed. ||||So, the hotel has some potential, but... it's pretty far from Nydri center/harbour, so you have a 15-20 min walk. It has a beach nearby (and it's nice one) 5-10 min walk. For bars and restaurants, you have to walk about 10 min. You could take a bus, as the station is next to the hotel. The area looks pretty tired and poor.||||The swimming pool and the outdoors don't look that bad and they're clean enough. There are some stray cats, that will be present at breakfast, as they are very hungry.||||An important thing is that in fact, there are 2 Poseidon Hotels in the same yard and they share the same pool and terrace. I don't know if there is a difference in quality, but the other one looked a bit better.||||The room was pretty large, but everything was dated and not too well cleaned, besides the sheets and towels. It had a kitchenette and a fridge, but not anything else: no plates, pans, cutlery or things like that. The shower drain was clogged, the moschitto net was destroyed, and we had the tiniest tv I ever saw (but it didn't matter anyway, it only had 4 channels).||||The included breakfast wasn't really that bad, but the way everything was organised it didn't look good. The arguing and fights between staff members especially at breakfast time didn't help.||||As I've seen, there were 3 employees at that time: the receptionist (which tried his best), the cleaning lady and the kitchen lady, all of them overwhelmed and probably underpaid. ||||At the reception you cannot find any maps or helpful materials, except for the tourism agency excursions. They had some commercials for rent a car but very expensive.||||I think you can do better than this hotel in Lefkada. It has potential, but it is...
