Meganisi Diamond - Katomeri — Hotel in Meganisi Municipality

We arrived at the resort (a very small group of beautiful villas/studios) having no luggage but the clothes we were wearing. Our case stuck at Manchester airport! Immediately Alexia and Vasiliki, our hosts rallied round and provided us with toiletries and clothes to see us through. Nothing was too much trouble, they found ‘phone chargers and drove us around to get other necessities. ||The studio we occupied was immaculate, beautifully designed, with its own small, private pool. The view was stunning, across a wooded valley, to Katomeri village and on to the sea in the distance. On arrival we found a huge and varied “welcome pack” which lasted well into the holiday. ||The resort is a kilometre away from the main port/town, Vathy, but it is an easy walk. It is also close to several lovely beaches, we enjoyed Fanari and Ammos (the other side of Vathy). We walked to them, but it is possible to hire electric bicycles, which would allow exploration of more distant beaches. (Though none are more than 5k from Katomeri)||The island is really picturesque, greener than many Greek islands, the people are extremely welcoming and helpful. ||Katomeri village is quiet and quaint, with two excellent tavernas and a really atmospheric coffee bar/cafe. ||I cannot recommend Katomeri resort highly enough. This place is beautiful. We felt so blessed to stay here. Everything was perfect. We slept so well, extremely comfortable bed and linen. Kept cool with the air-conditioning. Felt we were in the lap of luxury with the stylish interior design which was such high quality. The fridge was stocked with wine, water, beer and a selection of soft drinks.
