Just returned from 2 weeks at the Rose Garden Apts and I can fully endorse all the great reviews that other people have given, Hector and Effie are the perfect hosts, a lovely friendly couple who work all the hours available to maintain the apartments, their taverna and shop, but still find the time to chat with their guests.||We stayed in room 2 which is on the lower level of the 2 level apartments. It is spacious even with an extra bed in it, Loads of wardrobe space, and table and chairs for when its too hot on the balcony.||The balcony is large with room for table and chairs and lots of space besides - it really does serve as an extra room.||The balcony faces NE and the sun hits it at 8 a.m. The shade has gone by 10, but is back before Midday. (The rooms on the top tier, have smaller balconies but are compensated by having an extra seating area at the front of the property). ||The room was the best equipped that I have seen in Greece in 30 years traveling, including a well stocked kitchen area with Filter coffee machine, sandwich toaster and a large fridge freezer. The air conditioning is excellent and the cheapest I have ever paid - 3 euros a night. In addition when we arrived we found an extensive welcome pack that allowed us to fix a lunch and relax immediately.||Really...

Read moreDuring a two-week stay on the island of Meganisi with my family, we dined at nearly every restaurant at least once. However, the one establishment we chose not to dine at, and certainly will not consider in the future, is the Rose Garden in Vathy. The reason for this decision stems from an incident that occurred one evening when we visited the restaurant to inquire if they were open for dining, as the premises appeared empty. I approached a lady who was facing away from me, and her response was a curt and dismissive 'NO,' delivered without the basic courtesy of turning to acknowledge me. When I expressed confusion, she turned around and, with an even more rude and condescending tone, stated, 'No, we are full.'
This encounter was one of the most discourteous I have ever experienced, and regrettably, it casts a negative light on the entire establishment. While I hope this was an isolated incident, I am inclined to believe otherwise. It is unfortunate, but ultimately inconsequential, as there are numerous other reputable restaurants in the area where respect and proper customer service...
