A truly touching and unforgettable human experience! I have to share an extraordinary moment we experienced during our visit to this restaurant. We were walking along the beautiful pier next to the place, and while we stopped to get some ice cream, one of the staff members noticed that my friend had a wound on his leg it was bleeding a bit. Without hesitation, without asking who we were or where we came from, he simply approached and said “I’m a human being.”
He asked my friend to sit down, took out a first aid kit, gently cleaned the wound with disinfectant, bandaged it carefully, and even gave us an extra bandage and pad all with kindness, calm, and genuine care. He didn’t ask for anything in return, not even a thank you — just smiled and went back to work as if it was the most natural thing in the world. It was such a moving, heartwarming act of humanity that truly touched us deeply.
Beyond the amazing food (and yes it’s definitely some of the best we’ve ever had!), it’s the people, the compassion, and the human warmth that make this place truly special. Thank you for reminding us what kindness looks like. We’ll definitely come back not just for the food, but for the wonderful people...
Read moreI usually do not review places or restaurants that I have not tried or never been but this is an exception.
We visited this place two days in a row (and the restaurant next to it) and we were told that everything is already booked, despite the place was utterly empty with so many tables!
I don't think there was not even a table for two people! Judging from other previous comments there is obviously a common practice they follow in order to maximize their profit and not allow single or two person tables in order to get more people later. For gods sake, it is not even a fine-dining gourmet restaurant in order to be treated in this way, it is just a taverna... and it is not Mykonos!
The funny thing is that they did ask us if we did have a reservation and for how many people and after a while 'politely' they told us that everything is booked!
I can understand from the point of view of profit gain but it is completely considered as an unacceptable and insulting behaviour towards the visitors and it really hurts the one thing that Greece should be proud of: hospitality...
Read moreWe chose Stavros at random and had an excellent experience. Great service, lovely food and sensational setting. The fish had come in that day and the tuna was mind blowingly good.
Niko was great and so hospitable, so we planned to go back later in the holiday.
We messaged friends at home to say where we were, and they said "make sure you go to Stavros", and it turns out they'd not only been to Meganissi but also to Stavros, and it was their favourite.
Not only did Niko remember them, he knew their names before being prompted.
We had 3 thoroughly lovely meals there, and if you are after a classic Greek taverna, that is top quality, and in the most beautiful setting, then Stavros is your place.
We'd go back to Meganissi just for...
