Horizon studios-Apartments — Hotel in Municipality of Agios Vasileios

We came across the Horizon Studios when looking for an alternative as our usual place in Rodakino Beach area was fully booked....and we hit on lucky with such a special find.||||The studios are set back from the beach up a short climb on a narrow very quiet road. When we arrived for our two night stay our room was not immediately ready (it was barely midday) so we were given a half litre of wine while we sat on the terrace of the taverna enjoying the view. ||||The studio was very clean and modern with good kitchen facilities and air conditioning. There were only 5 studios which are above the family residence and the views over the Libyan sea from the sunny balcony were superb.||||We were given little treats on our arrival in our room (carafe of raki and nice cake) and the hospitality was fantastic. This is my very favourite restaurant in the whole of Crete (and boy do I know Crete) the location is incredible with amazing views to the sea and situated next to a fantastic sandy and quiet beach which makes it perfect for a day trip. ||The food is exceptionally delicious, fresh and authentic Cretan. The portions are big very generous Cretan style!. Every day they make 4-5 daily (baked/ casserole ) specials. Go for those! You won't be disappointed! The prices are correct and fair. Great value for money. ||The taverna and rent rooms are run by a beautiful, charming family of Vaggelis and Maria. They are hospitable, kind, generous and everything is very clean. They take great care of the surroundings and have a nice traditional garden and playground.||I couldn't find anything to fault this amazing find. Stayed here for 3 nights when on a road trip around Crete and wished we could have stayed longer.|Beautiful large and modern room with a large balcony . It's high up above Rodakino and has great views out across the Libyan sea. There are 2 beaches within walking distance.|The attached restaurant is fantastic and we ate here every night of our stay.|There was a standard menu and every day there were at least 3 special dishes( we always chose from these). Everything was delicious and very reasonably priced and there was always a complimentary dessert.|We also had breakfast there each day which was incredible value and varied. |Really could not fault Horizon studios and restaurant. We thoroughly enjoyed our stay and would book again if we return to Crete...
