We loved our stay at Hotel Mike! ||When planning our trip to Amorgos I contacted Theodoros (the hotel owner) and he was incredibly helpful. He advised me by email of all the different ferries which call at Amorgos (we were travelling from Naxos and took the Highspeed4 – a really nice ship and very speedy as you’d expect from the name). There are two ferry ports on Amorgos – we arrived in Katapola and took a taxi to Aegiali (this was €28 as far as I recall). ||We were met by Theodoros on arrival, our check-in was super speedy and we were shown to a lovely room with a private balcony and a fantastic harbour view. The room had everything we could want - air-con, a nice bathroom with shower (and lovely olive oil toiletries), a big, very comfortable bed, a wardrobe (with lots of coat hangers), a fridge so that we could chill anything we brought back to the hotel. On the balcony there was even a discreet clothesline so that we could dry our swimming things. There were extra pillows in the wardrobe and we were told that the hotel could loan us beach towels and even do our laundry – both free of charge (we took them up on the laundry offer and it was ready on the same day - folded and placed on the bed ready for our return). ||The housekeeping at the hotel is of a very high standard. Our room was cleaned to perfection each day, with a change of sheets and towels (the towels appearing back on our bed in the shapes of boats or butterflies). ||We took breakfast at the hotel 4 out of the 6 days we stayed there and it was lovely (great value at €7 per person). Great coffees (double Greek for my husband and a Frappe for me) served on the terrace overlooking the sea and a pretty windmill. The food was great quality with jams and thyme honey produced by the hotel’s owner, along with his homemade cakes too! Local cheese, yoghurt and eggs – gorgeous fresh fruit, along with dried figs, raisins and nuts. Superb. ||A fantastic location. Right by the port, shops, supermarkets, restaurants and bars with a short walk to the beach. Perfect.||To be honest I’m not sure I should post this review... I want there to be rooms available for my next visit!||Thanks to Theodoros and all his staff. We had a...
