Maltabe Studios — Hotel in Municipality of Andros

The studios are located in a very sweet spot, 5min walk from Andros center, museums, restaurants and bars. Parking might be an issue but we didn’t face any difficulty finding a place during our 8 days stay. |They are very spacious in order to accommodate a couple with two children with all the necessary amenities required for a family stay. They are fully air conditioned and also equipped with a ceiling fan which is very comfortable should you choose to skip the Aircondition on a not very hot day. |They were very clean with daily visits and with frequent linen change (3 days) and towels (2 days). |A nice veranda with an umbrella was also available for morning or afternoon coffee/refreshment. |What really made the difference was the old time hospitality approach, that is, caring for the visitors, Upon our arrival we found the fridge full of all the necessary goods for the first day and also every day Ms Eleni treated us with delicious hand made traditional sweets, cakes, biscuits, croissants…… |Last but not least, the value for money for such a venue and hospitality level was very high. |Definitely recommend it and it will be our choice on our next visit...

ENGLISH:

I booked the smaller studio which on the phone I was told has its "own balcony" (not the case - the balcony was shared). I arrived and the owner - without warning me- said that I will stay two nights in the bigger apartment and one night in the smaller one (I don't mind the change but when this happens you should let the customer know in advance). The bigger apartment is beautiful, with incredible view!

However, it was evident that the floor was not vacuumed and mopped; it was very dusty. There was also some dust on the bed. The sugar jar had tens of insects inside. Also, on one of the bedrooms there was a constant noise in the evening (probably some loose door or window from upstairs). So the second night, I slept in the other bedroom. The owner, in my surprise asked in a very rude and indiscreet way: "I saw you had visitors?". I responded that no, I just switched rooms because of the noise (also I guess it is none of her business). The last day she pressured me to pay half day rate extra because I left my suitcase there for a few hours before I took the boat (which was supposedly okay for me to do!). She also forced me to do the money transaction on the spot (insinuating that she doesn't trust me) and thus was the rudest host I have ever encountered. Long story short: beautiful apartment (only the bigger one), but really not nice people.

Έκλεισα το μικρότερο στούντιο, για το οποίο στο τηλέφωνο μου είπαν ότι έχει "δικό του μπαλκόνι" (κάτι που δεν ισχύει – το μπαλκόνι ήταν κοινόχρηστο). Όταν έφτασα, η ιδιοκτήτρια χωρίς να με έχει ενημερώσει μου είπε ότι θα μείνω δύο νύχτες στο μεγαλύτερο διαμέρισμα και μία στο μικρότερο (δεν με ενοχλεί η αλλαγή, αλλά όταν συμβαίνει κάτι τέτοιο, πρέπει να ενημερώνεται ο πελάτης εκ των προτέρων). Το μεγαλύτερο διαμέρισμα είναι υπέροχο, με απίστευτη θέα!

Ωστόσο, ήταν φανερό ότι το πάτωμα δεν είχε σκουπιστεί ούτε σφουγγαριστεί – είχε πολλή σκόνη. Υπήρχε επίσης σκόνη στο κρεβάτι. Το δοχείο με τη ζάχαρη είχε ζουζούνια και γενικώς η κουζίνα δεν φαινόταν καθαρή. Επίσης, σε ένα από τα υπνοδωμάτια υπήρχε συνεχής θόρυβος το βράδυ (μάλλον από κάποια πόρτα ή παράθυρο στον επάνω όροφο που χτυπούσε με τον αέρα). Έτσι, τη δεύτερη νύχτα κοιμήθηκα στο δεύτερο υπνοδωμάτιο. Προς έκπληξή μου, η ιδιοκτήτρια με ρώτησε με πολύ αγενή και αδιάκριτο τρόπο: "Είδα ήσασταν κόσμος κάτω;". Της απάντησα πως όχι, απλώς άλλαξα δωμάτιο λόγω του θορύβου (αν και δεν θεωρώ ότι την αφορά). Την τελευταία μέρα με πίεσε να πληρώσω επιπλέον μισή ημέρα γιατί άφησα τη βαλίτσα μου για λίγες ώρες μέχρι να πάρω το καράβι (κάτι που μου είχαν πει ότι μπορώ να κάνω). Επίσης, με πίεσε να κάνω τη συναλλαγή επιτόπου (υπονοώντας ότι δεν με εμπιστεύεται) και με λίγα λόγια ήταν η πιο αγενής οικοδέσποινα που έχω συναντήσει.

Πανέμορφο διαμέρισμα (μόνο το μεγαλύτερο), αλλά πολύ αγενής...

A very clean place and 5 minutes walk to the centre of Hora.|My apartment was superb with a bedroom, kitchen come diner and settee to watch TV, a bathroom with shower (size for was fine but others might find it little tide but very clean) a large veranda outside with table and chairs AND with sea view in the horizon. |Have to mention the owner Ka Eleni who was such an amazing person, so friendly and provided a lot of welcoming cakes, local sweets and home made biscuits to set you off . A great touch.|Of course I recommend it and I might be back next year during the Easter...
