Nima Hotel: More Than Just a Place to Stay Our experience at Nima Hotel was wonderful from start to finish, even surpassing our expectations given its excellent pricing. It is about a 1.5-hour drive from Heraklion airport, so we arrived a bit late around 10:30 pm, yet Maria greeted us warmly, guiding us to our room and sharing helpful recommendations for the area. The room was a pleasant surprise: two balconies, two TVs, a comfortable bed, and a complimentary bottle of delicious local Greek wine. We’d read reviews before arriving, and it's clear that the management listens and actively improves based on feedback. For instance: Previous guests mentioned the lack of a soap ledge in the shower; this has been added. Some worried about potential noise from the nearby highway, but we found the room quiet and restful. A few reviews mentioned mosquitoes, but our room was entirely free of them, though we noticed a few flies around the hotel, which was manageable. Of course, no place is perfect. I had two minor issues: 1. The shared sliding door for the shower and restroom: It’s a stylish concept, but it can be inconvenient if you’re sharing the room. Using either space affects the other, creating minor issues with privacy and convenience. 2. The parking area: The lot is located right in front of the hotel, but it’s a gravel surface. Personally, I would have preferred a paved lot with designated spaces, though I understand this may align with the hotel’s natural aesthetic. Overall, we had a fantastic stay at Nima Hotel. The service was excellent, with Maria and Martina standing out as warm and attentive. We’ll definitely return and highly recommend it to anyone looking for great value.

We stayed here recently and enjoyed our stay for the most part. Room and bathroom were spacious. We also had a private pool which was nice and I recommend, if you can get one of the rooms. Breakfast was included and plentiful. We really enjoyed the fresh vegetables and fruit every morning. The tomatoes and peaches were both excellent! Air conditioning was strong which is critical in Greek summers as the sun is brutally hot. Easy to walk to all the restaurants/shops in the area and a short walk to the beach which is convenient. I would recommend renting a car for exploring Crete though. There are a few things that could make the place even better: - Bathroom is a wet room which makes the floor extremely slippery and potentially dangerous. Either tile that is less slippery or putting down a shower mat would be helpful. - Shelving in the bathroom would be helpful. Had to put shampoo and soap on the floor. A bit annoying. Also, shampoo, soap and hand cream are included but you need to bring conditioner. - Pool cleaning occasionally would be nice - not cleaned once during our stay. Our pool tile was quite dirty and there was debris on the bottom of the pool, which was there when we arrived.

This hotel was fantastic. We loved it. The two ladies at reception, Martina and Maria are so helpful and friendly. Martina is the one to ask for places to visit and directions. Breakfast is great. A huge variety of food for everyone‘s taste. And Katarina will make you what you can’t find. Gregori (the owner) will also be there for breakfast. He and his wife Pabla also own the Taverna down the road which is well worth a visit. The food is very good indeed. Pabla was so friendly. Would definitely come back here again. Parking is available, if you choose to rent a car. The rooms are very spacious. We had 205. the upper floor. It has a second floor leading to a lounge area and second balcony and TV. The outdoor pool is good. Enough sunbirds and sunshades. The cleaning ladies do a very good job indeed and are also very friendly. So all in all a great place to stay. We found everything we needed. And if you need something that isn’t there they will help you for sure !!
