Diónysos — Restaurant in Municipality of Apokoronas

I was really excited to try this place after hearing it was “traditional” and “authentic”, but I left with a heavy feeling.

The first thing I noticed when I walked in was the grill cook’s butt - those juicy pimples were impossible to miss. I also saw him holding a cigarette while moving in and out of the kitchen. Passing by outside, I noticed the chef was already smoking inside. So literally, smoked food is coming from a kitchen that feels unprofessional and unsanitary. Who knows what else might be lurking in there besides cigarette butts and cockroaches?

The atmosphere felt tense; the staff seemed to walk on eggshells. At one point, the owner shouted and called someone terrible names, right in front of customers. I also tipped €20 specifically for the waiters, but it never reached them.

The bill felt strangely inflated for dinner (€100 for what?), and no receipt was given. Oddly, none of the staff seemed to eat while working there, which is strange for a restaurant. I also heard that on Saturdays, the owner is almost topless at their parties. Definitely not something most diners want to see.

It’s sad because the location has potential, but energy doesn’t lie. Maybe have your meal somewhere where kindness is on the menu as well.

It’s also selfish to keep 100% of the tips, especially when the restaurant may not even be legally registered. Seems like the tax authorities could do their...

The atmosphere was great, a DJ to entertainment and bread and tzatziki served right away free of charge!

The meals were wonderful, from pizza, octopus, fresh sea bass to chicken Slovakia. Hands down the BEST CHICKEN SLOVAKIA in all of Greece 😁👍 I thought the good lord himself made the dish. It was so tender and delicious, thank you 🙏

Parking was a little difficult, but the weather was nice so we didn’t mind having to take a little walk around the corner to get there.
