Firstly the reception staff were excellent and friendly. The rooms are basic but clean. I rented an electric bike and allowed me to bring into room to charge. I stayed for 10 days. The bad. Wifi was OK in common areas but pretty much unusable in my room. This may be because it was the furthest from reception. Even though I emailed b4 arriving and told them I needed to do some work and needed good wifi in my room. I had to tether my phone instead. Bathrooms some have showers but others have old small sit bath with 2 height levels. They were so small that there was not a single flat surface I could put my feet together. Honestly, it was dangerous as it was really tight and slippy. I also had a leak in the ceiling for the last 2 nights of my stay. The beds were not too bad nit great but better than most in Greek lower to mid range hotels. Food. Is the worst I have come across. I stayed half board and really sorry. I ate out quite a lot. Breakfast is 8 different types of eggs all prepared and not tasty. Covered in salt to cover lack of taste. Somebody definitely has a thing for eggs. They do have Greek yoghurt, etc, and a few cereals. Fruit was always watermelon and sometimes grapes, that's it. There were no pancakes for breakfast, but there was for dinner, I had never seen this before. Dinner was pasta with. Spaghetti with. And again, it's just bland and cheap cuts of meat. Ask for water or a drink before you sit down. I was not able to get any a few times. Not only was the food tasteless but fairly repetitive. Although the desert options were better. The restraunt, like most of the hotel, has great views, but mosquitos are a problem. A few mosquito repellent plants places around could help. The worst thing about the restraunt is you felt you were being watched to see if you were eating too much. Hardly likely tbh. You see, there are a couple of offices looking out at the restraunt. And in the first, an older gentleman sat and just looked straing out at Back in my room, the doors were left open every day after cleaning. And so I had to go mosquito squashing every evening as they then got into the room. At least 2 or three every night. Couldn't use the balcony either due to mosquitos. Not surprisingly, because of the marshland nearby. The general cleaning was good, but a deeper clean is needed. The shower hose was filthy and considered that this has to be held is terrible. The shelf in front of the mirror was never cleaned during the 10 nights, and I had to count he build up of dead flies increase as the days wore on Some people said the rooms were a bit small. I have to say I don't agree with this. This hotel relies on you getting transport to get everywhere, tbh during a lack of footpaths and lighting in the area It's good in parts but terrible in others, tbh it borders close to 2.5 stars rather than 2, but it's slightly...
Read moreWe stayed at the Oasis Perama Hotel for 11 days. The hotel is in a very good location, the view is beautiful, we had two rooms.
The mattresses were on the hard side, bathroom had not been completely renovated. Our room was on its own floor so we had peace and quiet, the air conditioning was new so it was quiet. The air conditioning in our other room needs to be replaced or at least serviced, the compressor outside was also quite noisy.
The reception staff, cleaners and wait staff are great for the guests, they do their best.
The only complaint is about the "bartender", we sat by the pool four times and he never came to take our cocktail order, even when he came to the next table and picked up the empty glasses, he did not come a few meters to us and ask what we wanted, we always had to go to the bar to order drinks and take them to our table. If he had shown more interest in his job and been hospitable, he could have sold several times more drinks.
The prices of some drinks were excessive, for example a glass of house wine was six euros, corona 0.33 six euros...
Breakfast and dinner are very good, all the food is very tasty, so all praise to the kitchen, nothing was ever lacking. This was the best food for a three-star hotel we have ever had.
The planes flying past the hotel are not disturbing, they are heard for about 30 seconds, they are quite frequent, usually from midnight to 6 am they do not land.
Some more observations, which have no direct connection with the hotel and their services, but relate to public services, local authorities...
A big drawback is that the water is not drinkable, you get bottled water everywhere, we do not understand why this is not regulated, because there seems to be enough water, this brings a lot of work to all employees and also creates a lot of additional waste, according to some estimates more than 200,000 PVC bottles in Corfu alone every day.
The garbage containers are open, no one closes the lids, so there are conditions for more insects and other animals that can easily get to food, not to mention the smells when the sun shines, the wind spreads the garbage around. There are far too many containers, a lot of garbage is lying around, it is not separated and the packaging is not compressed...
It is mandatory to have a vehicle because the sidewalks are overgrown with grass and bushes or there are none, so walking along the road is quite dangerous.
Parking in Corfu Town is a real challenge, we found only one paid parking lot and even there it was full, after an hour of waiting and driving through the streets we gave up and drove back to the hotel because we don't want to park anyone, park on sidewalks, pedestrian crossings,...
Read moreA hotel with stunning scenery and the most caring and friendly staff! The views from the window are simply mesmerizing. On the balcony you can sit endlessly and admire the sea. Room service is daily and of sufficient quality. In general, the work of the staff is rated 10 out of 10. Each employee is very attentive and caring. And this allows you to close your eyes to the existing shortcomings in the hotel. The biggest inconvenience is the beach. Which has long required major repairs. There you can easily get injured, and the descent into the water can become a whole quest (in addition to broken wooden decking, stony bottom and metal parts on the bottom at the entrance to the water). That said, the beach staff member is a nice lady. Breakfasts and dinners are not bad, and it is noticeable that the cook tries to make the menu varied and tasty (we even had ribs-bbq for dinner). You will definitely not stay hungry. All the food and desserts are delicious and look appetizing. However, when you are on an island, you expect to see a variety of fish and seafood. But here we were in for a disappointment. For 7 days we had only pasta with seafood, where there were only a few mussels and a couple of shrimps. And every day there was the same slaw in different sauces. The coffee offered for breakfast is disgusting. It looks more like a dirty rag washed in water. But without problems you can order coffee at the pool bar and there it will be brewed perfectly. The hotel has a show program. The girl with the guitar won our hearts and ears. Greek folk dances were also good. A special thanks to the hotel for this. In general, we were satisfied with the vacation! And we can safely say that it was worth its money. The hotel would like to wish for development and good customers. And also a small cosmetic repair. Since the rooms and the hotel itself look a little "tired". That spoils the impression of the many pluses of this place! If you are looking for a hotel on a medium budget, the Oasis would be a great choice! I can wholeheartedly...
