My partner and I stayed at the hotel for 4 weeks in September/October 2024. We chose the hotel as it appealed to us as a family run hotel rather than the larger 5* hotels that surround it. Our first room D7 looked onto a little courtyard area which was pretty, however, it was shaded all day, and you were looking directly at your neighbours. We asked if it would be possible to move as we were there for an extended time and the reservations manager was so accommodating and friendly. We were given a choice of rooms when they became available 3 days later and opted for F3 which was at the bottom of the private villa, it was far bigger, and the bathroom was more modern. We requested a mattress topper for the bed and found it really comfortable for our stay. The unheated pool was empty most of the days until mid afternoon and there was no issue getting a lounger, no-one 'reserved' beds with their towels. I actually found it more enjoyable beside the small children's pool as this was not used the majority of our holiday and had the comfort of shade from the trees. Our stay was half board and we found the food was very good quality and plenty of options daily. The outside bar was closed but you could order drinks that the staff would bring from the adjoining restaurant. The hot drinks were available at breakfast but not in the evening, there are kettles and cups and saucers in the rooms as well as a fridge. The staff were very nice, some more chatty than others but all equally polite and approachable. There is one bus a day in each direction from the stop outside the neighbouring hotel, a 3 minute walk at max. The bus to Hersonissos cost 2 Euro in each direction and continues on to Aghios Nikolaos. The tour booking shop next door has very competitive prices and we found some much cheaper than with our holiday booking company. For those that enjoy watching television, the ones in the rooms have limited English speaking channels, just the news ones but the internet connection is good enough to stream programmes onto portable devices. The housekeeping staff were very cheery and friendly, they work very hard to keep the rooms clean each day. We very much enjoyed our lengthy, totally relaxing stay and were pleased with our choice of hotel and location. There were many nationalities at the hotel over the course of 4 weeks which may account for...
Read moreI absolutely do not recommend this hotel, and I want to share my negative experience so that other travelers can avoid the same issues. We booked our stay in Crete from September 4 to September 10, 2024, through Perfect Stay, including flight, accommodation, and half-board. We arrived late at night (around midnight) on September 4, and everything seemed fine until the day of departure.
On the morning of September 10, after having breakfast and enjoying the beach, we were interrupted by a receptionist during our meal. He informed us that checkout was at 11 AM, even though it was 2:30 PM. With our flight scheduled for 7:30 PM, we intended to stay at the hotel until our transfer at 4:50 PM took us to the airport. I had never been informed of this checkout time, and I never received the message that the hotel claimed to have sent.
The receptionist then insisted we pay for an extra night, claiming that another guest needed to occupy the room. However, when I asked where this guest was, he could not answer. This behavior shows a complete lack of professionalism and clearly indicates a lack of coordination between the hotel and Perfect Stay. Furthermore, it is absurd to charge for an extra night when we had booked a half-board stay, with services supposed to align with our flight schedule.
Regarding the hotel itself, the experience was equally disappointing. The smell of sewage was pervasive, whether in the room or in the breakfast area. The room’s air conditioner made unbearable noise, making nights very difficult. Additionally, the food offered was far from varied. The same dishes were served every day, which quickly became tedious.
Finally, I want to point out that the photos visible on Google do not reflect the reality of this hotel. In reality, it is old, poorly maintained, and in no way meets the expectations one might have for such an establishment.
I strongly advise against this hotel for anyone looking for a peaceful and well-organized stay. It is clear that their management is neither respectful nor professional, and it greatly spoiled the end...
