A year ago: Το προσωπικό και σέρβις ήταν πολύ προσεγμένα. Το φαγητό καλό αλλά όχι κάτι το εξαιρετικό
I recently visited this high-end restaurant for the second time and unfortunately, my experience was far from satisfactory. Despite the beautiful sea view and well-maintained property, I can only offer a two-star rating for my visit.
On my first visit about a year ago, I found the staff to be attentive and the food to be good, but not excellent. However, on this second visit, the food was once again just decent, and the service left much to be desired.
My party of three arrived for our reservation a little early, and we were seated at an outside table. We ordered several appetizers and two main dishes, including one meant for my daughter as her main course. While the appetizers arrived promptly, we waited for over an hour and a half for our main courses to arrive. Despite inquiries from us, we were told repeatedly that our food was on its way, but it was only after I spoke to the maître that she admitted there was a mistake with our order. I told her it would have been an acceptable excuse had it been made an hour earlier, instead of the waiter telling us that the dishes are "on the way."
By the time the food arrived, our appetite was gone, and we regretted not cancelling the unserved dishes when the maître first came to our table. Throughout the long wait, the staff had several opportunities to correct the error, such as comping the late dishes or the extra glass of wine we ordered while we waited, but they chose not to.
The staff tried to make amends with small talk and offers of Raki and sweets, but the damage was already done. As someone who is willing to pay a higher price for something perceived to be of higher value, I was deeply disappointed by the experience. While the presentation of the plates was attractive and the staff overall pleasant, the long wait for the main courses and the lack of transparency in the communication left a sour taste in my mouth.
I sincerely hope that the restaurant takes steps to improve their service and communication, as it is an important factor in the dining experience, especially for a high-end establishment. For the amount we paid for our meal (€111), we expected a much better experience. This was the worst restaurant experience...
Read moreVery disappointing!!!
I’ve ordered the linguini with crab and vongole. Well, first of all there was not even one ‘vongole’ (clam) to be found in my dish. Instead of that they put 3 (!) mussels as a decoration which weren’t even fresh. Second, the crab was completely empty! There was not even a small piece of meat in the legs, nothing. It might not be the time of year, but then they should’ve told us OR don’t have it on the menu as an option. Paying around €20,00 for a basic red sauce pasta with 3 mussels is way too overpriced and really disappointing. When I’ve asked the waiter about this he was laughing, well it’s not that funny if you ask me. Also when they brought us the pasta dishes we’ve tried to get their attention for almost 5 minutes from one of the waiters to ask for a spoon. All where with the back to us and more busy with each other then with the customers in the restaurant. When we finally had their attention one of the spoons they brought was dirty. Since we didn’t want our meals to get cold and wait any longer to get attention from one of the staff members again, we left it and ate with just a fork.
Besides that we’ve ordered a starter which never came. When we asked the waitress about it she said she never heard my husband ordered it. Well, when we’ve ordered it she clearly said ‘yes’ and typed something in her system. We speak Greek, so the language couldn’t have been the problem.
We’ve got seated at a table upstairs which was more inside the restaurant, so it was quite warm and uncomfortable for me since I’m pregnant. The restaurant wasn’t even a quarter full (3 other tables total) so we’ve asked if it was possible to move to a table that was free near the window. That wasn’t possible because it was reserved, although there was no sign on the table. Well, the whole time we’ve spend there until the moment we left the table was empty…. We had the strong idea that the waitress was bored to move us to the other table.
I could write more about the poor service, but I think that’s just a waste of time.
Over the last years I’ve been several times before in this restaurant. The last 3 times where disappointing but we decided to come back and give it another try. Well, after the last time NEVER again.
Overall way too expensive for the poor dishes and...
Read moreYesterday we drove 45 minutes to have lunch here and we didn't have a good experience. It started already by entering the restaurant, we felt immediatly judged by the waiters, espacialy by the older woman. Because of the wait on the food (35min) and the Gault Millau sticker on the door we had high expectations. There were only 4 tables taken so it wasnt even busy. I orderd the pasta with the mussels and crab and my boyfriend had the chicken burger. My pasta was drenched in saus wich had a lot of little pieces of shell in it, had 5 mussels placed by hand on top and 1 of them was just streched and dried out. How can you not notice this as a cook. It came with a crab and a clipper and they didn't suggest to help me clip the crab. For a restaurant like this, this is not done. Also I didn't even get a wet wipe with my dish.. (Eventually I asked a waiter myself and he kindly helped, this was the only nice waiter in the restaurant) My boyfriends chicken "burger" was really just 2 big pieces of chicken mince with a dot of bbq sauce next to it and carrot puree. After finishing our drinks we sat here with empty glasses for 15 minutes and the waiters did not even try to look our way so we could order. Everybody got raki and fresh fruits with their bill except for us.
The hospitality and kindness you are used to in Crete was not even present here. If you like good food wich is worth your money and a nice atmosphere, go somewhere else! (My suggestion is...
