We stayed at the Koni Village Hotel from Saturday 2nd August 2025 to Tuesday 12th August 2025.
If you are unsteady on your feet or limited mobility, then this is not the place for you. As mentioned in the resort website, the Hotel is built on the side of a hill, so there are many, many steps and steep inclines to get to your rooms. The rooms don’t have lifts and you will have to carry your own luggage to the rooms.
I’ll do Pro’s and Con’s of each area we have experienced of the hotel;
Location Pro’s - this is a fairly quiet location with no nearby nightlife, keeping you up until the early hours! There’s an onsite shop, which is open until 6pm each day and stocks an adequate amount of goods that you may need. We mainly went there for bottled water as it’s frowned upon if you use the bar water dispenser to fill your own water bottles up, rather than their plastic cups (which is fair enough).
Con’s - The beach and shops are a 15 minute walk away. Due to there being a main road at the bottom of the hotel, you have to walk along the road until you get to an underpass which is wide enough for one person and walk through it to get on to the other side of the road. Then it’s a five minute walk to the beach and shops.
Staff
Pro’s - All the staff are really friendly and nothing is too much to ask. The restaurant manager is very passionate about his job and runs the restaurant really well. The aqua aerobics at 10am everyday was great and we made sure that we were there every day of our stay.
Con’s - None!
Rooms
Pro’s - We had a family room, which sleeps up to four people. This was split in to two rooms by an interconnected door. Both rooms had their own balconies and were kept reasonably clean, with rooms cleaned and towels changed every other day.
Cons - We only had air conditioning in one room, so the interconnected door had to remain open at all times.
The bathroom was VERY dated (please see photos), we had a bath with no plug and the shower was the type that runs off the taps and hangs off the wall. The shower curtain is too short for the bath, where about an inch of curtain hangs inside the bath, so the whole floor got soaked. The toilet had a plastic seat and the bottom of the pan was black.
I’ve been told by fellow guests that other rooms have walk in showers, so I can only assume that they are modernising the hotel in stages.
The condition of the bathroom would be the only reason that we wouldn’t come again. If that was rectified, then yes we wouldn’t visit again in the future.
Food and drink
Pro’s - This is a small hotel, so don’t expect 15 different types of chicken and rows and rows of food. What is on offer is varied and tasty. If you’re a chicken nuggets and chips person, then sadly this isn’t the place for you. You’ll have two to three different types of meat, a choice of fish and vegetarian option with a live cooking station too. There’s a salad bar, well stocked and some of the best Greek yogurt for desert that I’ve tasted anywhere! Breakfast is good, with a varied choice of meats, cheeses, breads, fried eggs, scrambled eggs and all the usual accompaniments.
Drinks are no brand, coke, coke light, orange, lemonade and limeade. All of which tasted fine to me. Local beer and red, rose and white wine with two house cocktails (sex on the beach and blue lagoon) were both nice drinks.
Cons - some guests said that the menu is repetitive, but during our 10 day stay we never had the same meal twice?
Entertainment - They try their best and remember this is a small hotel, so you’ll have a couple of live Greek acts along with a couple of karaoke nights and quiz nights.
Pool - Nice pool size with plenty of loungers. Was nice that we didn’t have to get up at 7am to reserve one as even by 11am there were plenty to choose from.
Overall I’d give the hotel 7 out of 10, as the only two things that let the place down was the dated bathroom / shower and only aircon...
Read moreWe travelled to the Koni Village for a weeks all inclusive stay. We booked with love holidays and we flew with Corendon. We booked our taxi with booking.com and the service was fantastic. It was a great deal and was around the same as self catering so a no brainer for us to try the Koni village. ||On arrival at the hotel we were checked in by Eva who was very friendly. She asked if we were ok with the hill as our room was at the top. I had noted this on previous reviews so was prepared for this. It was no issue for us although it was a bit of a work out with the cases and would not be suitable for those with walking difficulties. I’d suggest emailing the hotel and requesting rooms lower down the hill in this case. ||Our room was a family room. We had a bedroom with a large double bed then single beds through a door. Each room had its own balcony and the room had air conditioning. It was clean and more than met our needs. There was a fridge in the room which was useful for water. The only issue I would say that there is no kettle in the room. Some of the party would have liked a morning cuppa on the balcony. ||There are 2 pools. We only used the larger one nearer the bar / restaurant area. There was always available sun beds and umbrellas and no mad rush to secure a spot. The pool was lovely. So refreshing and relaxing. ||There is some light entertainment a singer once a week (we were out that night so I cannot offer comment) and a night of Greek dancing which was brilliant. Everyone was having such a great time. On the other days / evenings entertainment is in the hands of Toto. You cannot fault his enthusiasm! Toto is a lovely guy but I have to say that the entertainment was that bad that it was so good and we looked forward to what surprises were next. It’s one of those things that you have to experience to ‘appreciate’ LOL. ||The staff in the hotel work very hard and long hours. Michael at the bar is a great guy. Drinks wise, the soft drinks are not branded but were absolutely fine. The beer served is ‘cretan beer’ which was really nice. They also do a couple of cocktails, blue lagoon and sex on the beach and serve standard spirits. This was fine for us but I would have liked a Malibu type drink or amaretto but we did not go thirsty. ||Food wise- the selection is relatively limited but we did not go hungry. Always a nice Greek salad if all Else fails. The beef dishes were very tender and enjoyable. One thing I would say is that it would be much better if the food was labelled properly so you knew what you were having. Signs would just say ‘chicken’, ‘pork’ etc rather than what the dish was. It would be difficult for anyone with allergies or intolerances. There was one evening where they had gyros on the buffet. The only issue was they had put the pita bread in with the meat so it was soggy. They could have just put it on a plate by the side. We had a few meals out in stalis which were lovely and about a 15 minute walk from the hotel. If we came to the hotel again I would look to eat out every second night for some variation and to enjoy the fantastic eateries in stalis and neighbouring resorts.||We thoroughly enjoyed our stay at the Koni Village and would go back in a heartbeat. I would remind people that this is a 3 star hotel and is a good price for what it is. If you are accepting of this and realistic with your expectations then you will have a great time!||Thank you to all at the Koni village we hope to...
Read moreAccommodation is adequate there were 4 adults and a baby in my party, we asked when booking for a cot for the baby and a low floor. We arrived late at night due to holdups in Glasgow. We were shown to a second floor apartment with a fridge, two large single beds in what I assume would be the lounge normally, in the bedroom there is a large double and the travel cot. There is a toilet with bath, over bath shower and wash basin. There is no seating area or beverage making facilities in the apartment. There are 2 balconies one with a plastic patio table and chairs. Good closed balcony wall which is excellent to contain a toddler and give peace of mind on those grounds. The main issue I have with the apartment is the air-conditioning, there is one unit in the bedroom which turned off when you leave the room and take the key with you. At night if the bedroom door is closed the room does get very cool but the lounge area has no cooling and it can get hot and uncomfortable during the night. For the complex itself, the grounds are very clean and fresh the buildings have a fresh painted look to them. The main drawback to the grounds area are the hills "do not book if you have mobility issues or breathing problems climbing hils" the walkways are all 30° to 45° and have no handrails for assistance. Public areas are clean and well presented, there are two pools one small on the lower part of the complex which doesn't seem to be used much unlike the main large pool sun bathing area. This is a well presented area with plenty of loungers and parasols, not had an issue getting a place no matter what time we went. There is a very large pool with a depth of 1.8m at the deepest and 1.2m shallow end. A tiny kiddy pool is located at the far end and is separated with a reasonable metal fence. The kids pool is about. 5m deep fine for a 1 year old to walk the length of. Most families and teenage groups were all well behaved and showed respect for others. No life guards were in attendance. At the furthest end of the pool area there is a small kids playground with a climbing frame and slides, the ground is covered in what appears to me to be kitty litter not sand. Then at the very end is beach volleyball Court? There is one large dinning room offering breakfast, lunch and dinner buffet. The buffet was not on the level of some Spanish all inclusive locations but there will be something for everyone. You can be a little rushed at times if you're taking up a larger table. Outside the dining room is the main bar seating area. It can get busy at night but there is a good amount of shade for during the day to chill and enjoy a beer or coffee. A little covered area has a couple of pool tables and a...
