We were unhappy to visit beach comber as a part of partnership with our 5 star residence. All I can say It was an awful experience with wild people.
The staff wouldn't let us in unless we are forced to throw away our possessions, which are happened to be lunchboxes (leaving food "under the counter" without a refrigerator at 35°C is equivalent). Here I have to clarify that I was 7 moth pregnant with a 3yo child and we in addition have some severe alimentary restrictions no restaurant menu can fulfil. No other solution, but throwing away food or getting out of the beach was suggested.
So forcing us to waste food and throw away our possessions was meant to stimulate our consumption in the restaurant attached to the beach (which turns out even not having a fridge, otherwise I don't understand why it was not suggested as a civilized solution). As a result we were stuck on that awful beach starving for 6 hours waiting for the earliest pick up bus (I remind I am very pregnant).
The beach situated just next to motor boat station. So if you enjoy smelling gasoline, cigarette, and weed (!) smoke this beach is perfect for you and your kids. Same if you like swimming in water rinsing scooter engines. Me personally, I don't enjoy all this and don't find it great for my kid and family stay. In addition, security of this peculiar spatial organisation is seriously questioned, no one can guarantee that a person on water scooter doesn't run over a swimmer on the beach, intentionally or by accident (weed, alcohol present on the beach once again).
Being a beach with conditioned access it was surprisingly dirty: packaging rests, cigarette butts...
Really barbarian behaviour and policy. I have visited many places all over the world but this is the first time I encounter such an uncivilized approach. Before having deal with Comber Beach I really believed Greek people were welcoming and adequate.
Good luck with you unethical business. Wish you are welcomed in the same manner wherever you go. You deserve the same treatment when you are pregnant...
Read moreWe visited Beachcomber Beach Club during our stay at Village Heights Resort, who arranged our sunbeds and provided a complimentary shuttle to and from the beach. The whole experience was seamless and stress-free, and we only wish we’d gone more than once!
The beach club itself has a fantastic atmosphere—relaxed, stylish, and welcoming. The staff were genuinely friendly and attentive, making us feel well looked after from the moment we arrived. The partnership between Beachcomber and Village Heights really added to the experience, taking all the hassle out of planning a beach day.
We chose to have lunch in the restaurant rather than on the beach, and it exceeded expectations. The baby tomato Greek salad was a fresh, flavourful twist on a classic—definitely try it! The tuna steak was perfectly cooked, and we also shared a beach menu wrap that was surprisingly filling. Presentation and portion sizes were both excellent.
Drinks were also fairly priced for a beach club setting: €5 for a Mythos beer, cocktails from €9, and large bottled waters for €3—served in a big ice bucket to keep everything cool.
Right next door is Skyride Watersports, a family-run business offering great value activities. We paid €50 for 20 minutes on a jet ski and €90 for a 7km parasailing experience—both well worth it.
We arrived around 10:15am on the first shuttle and stayed until the last pick-up at 5:45pm, spending roughly €100 on food and drinks for the day. For a full day of sun, sea, great service, and good food, it was excellent value.
Highly recommended if you’re staying at Village Heights or anywhere nearby—it was one of the highlights...
Read moreWhat a find! I did a quick search of places for a beach visit and came across this place. Looked chilled and also saw references to a “Mr Mustache” wasn’t sure if the guy was real, anyhow we drove down for a visit.
The bar area is chilled with a great layout and bean bags and plenty of space. The front of house man was really nice and welcomed us in.
So we found a couple of nice sun beds and lo and behold Mr Mustache appeared! He was very clear on the set up explaining everything and the costs as well. You have to pay for the beds regardless if you use the bar and restaurant which is fair enough. We paid 15 euros which includes an iced bucket of water. To us it’s a fair price as it was comfortable, spacious and clean. Many places are not so good!
Mr Mustache was very helpful, even bringing me a pillow for when I was reading. What a lovely guy!
We also ate in the restaurant lunchtime and the menu was modern and the food great.
This is a great place and worth a visit as opposed to the usual ones along the way.
We will definitely visit again hopefully on the evening and also to see our new friend.
It’s lovely to see that in these real hard times on the island that people still pull out all the stops you give us holiday experiences to remember. This is why we live Crete as you won’t find it las good as this anywhere else (We have...
