Our stay at Koutsounari Traditional Cottages was perfect! Host Ioanna was incredibly welcoming, helpful and friendly before we arrived and throughout our week-long stay, recommending restaurants, beaches and sites-- all of which were wonderful. Having traveled nearly 40 years throughout Greece, I will say that very few accommodations and very few hosts match the high level of Koutsounari. Our "Superior" cottage with sea view was spacious and beautifully decorated with traditional furnishings and art. The kitchen included full-size fridge, stove/oven, and coffee-maker, toaster, kettle, and all the dishes, cutlery and cookware we could possibly need. The bed was luxurious with wonderful linens, and the bathroom was large, beautifully-designed and well-thought-out. Housekeeping was perfect and discreet, and we appreciated the outdoor table and chairs with the little private garden. Ioanna knew we were there to adopt a dog and our cottage included a cute little dog bed and food and water bowls! We thoroughly enjoyed the welcome gifts of the local liquor and delicious homemade biscuits and marmalade, as well as our conversations with Ioanna. Each cottage has perfect privacy from the others, the area is very quiet but close to town (car needed), and parking is available. I highly recommend this property and hope to...
Read moreI visited Eoanna’s Traditional Cottages from New York and have only good things to say. The cottages are set in a small village and made of ancient greek architecture overlooking the ocean. We had stunning views right from our private roof terrace. Each cottage is slightly different, and there are less than ten, so there is a lot of privacy and peace and quiet. The cottages have great top-of-the-line amenities (like a Nespresso coffee maker), a small kitchen, living room, and bed room, perfect for some lone time with a significant other. One thing that really made our stay memorable was Eoanna, our host and owner of the Cottages. Eoanna was so friendly and welcoming, going out of her way to make us feel at home. She had lots of insider tips of things to do and helping with restaurant reservations. The Cottages are set in a small village Kousunari, a five minute walk from the beach and within walking distance to an abundance of great restaurants. The south of Crete was also a great choice for us, since it was far less touristy than the north. I can’t recommend this place...
Read moreTraditional cottage, that reminded me of childhood...in Ukraine? :-) We have/had the same way of constructing homes long ago. Upon arriving our host meet us, despite the late evening ( around 11 pm) and we had some stuff in the kitchen and the fridge waiting - home-made - real! House is equipped with airco, but, with temperatures outside 16 at night , 22-23 during daytime - we turned it on exactly ZERO times in our two-week stay. There is plenty of spaces, and plenty of flat, large and small cushions. Nice , small table outside - enough for 4-5 person, with shading roof. ||||Houses were clean and Maria ensured helping us to keep them clean. There is no washing machine or dishwasher, but there is a laundry service, and remember - this is traditional living, not a big deal to wash your dishes. ||||Plenty of good taverns around - and we can vote for a Rodos .||||Our location was allowing us to enjoy tranquility and sea views. Maybe 15 minutes walking to the beach. ||||Once more - thank Ioanna and Maria for...
