Hotel Porto Potha — Hotel in Municipality of Kalymnos

No cars, no discos, no youngsters with their faces buried in smartphones, but instead sounds from boats, waves, and the occasional happy barking from the two old dogs of the hotel owners. Said in other words : what a wonderful place. We were only sorry that we only had one week. We had a studio with a magnificient view towards Kalymnos. The studios are still ( at least ours) in the proces of being modernised, so we had a hole in a wall where the coming flatscreen tv is going to hang. But no problem, we hanged a beautiful scarf over the hole. If something was needed in the studio we went and asked Nikos for it and got it immediately. You somehow feel that this is definately a hotel run by a family, where everybody is taking part...We came home, yes HOME, from a trip to Leros and we knew that we would be tired so we had in advance asked for dinner, and dinner was ready, home cooked by Maria, Nikos wife. Yes...Home away from home. If any criticism at all it would be that kitchen utensils in the studio's kitchen were too few....but I feel certain that if we had went and asked to borrow from Maria, we would have got it.... The Pool: wow, large, clean and saltwater ||Definately one of our best Greek holidays...and Telendos is a pure Jewel.....Go there if you want "The Old Greek Island Experience". We stayed in the studio apartements which is a separate block from main hotel - fantastic views and lovely old Greek hotel type of room. Breakfast was served in the main hotel - lovely linen table clothes, and, a charming service with an excellent breakfast and a choice - There is a super swimming pool half way down the grounds going towards the beach where drinks can be purchased. This is a family run hotel and the owners are really lovely and nothing is too much trouble - there is no doubt that we would not hesitate to go back there next year, even though it is a steep climb to the hotel.||Telendos has just a few restaurants and bars all of which proved to be of a high standard - there are sea taxis every half an hour to Mastouri - and plenty of lovely walks for the energetic to hidden bays and beaches. There are no roads or vehicles on the island so very, very peaceful. This is a destination for those that want to relax and remember Greece how is use to be - it is a truly beautiful island to visit...so those that want night clubs , spas , all inclusive etc this is...

What an absolute fantastic location on this small island of Telendos, it sits just off the island of kalymnos simply put, this small island is Paradise, we stayed at porta potha hotel and studios for 4 nights and we were not disappointed, we had a self catering studio overlooking the sea which was breathtaking, the rm was very beautiful with everything we needed and even a sofa bed, yes it is up a small hill and you have to negotiate the uneven steps to get up to reception but they have made another entrance which is a concrete rd, far easier to walk up and well worth it... the owners made us feel very welcome and , there are so many things about this place I could go on and on, all of them positive! The point is no matter where you stay here you will fall in love with this place which is accessed by water taxi and has only 90 residents, 4 restaurants, 1 shop, and a lifetime of...
