Rita — Restaurant in Municipality of Kalymnos

Rita’s have been for ages on Telendos, Yiannis on the terrace and Irini and Petroula in the kitchen. Sadly, Yiannis passed away and his son, Miltos, took over. With all due respect to Yiannis…, Miltos has created a fresh approach of the restaurant as a whole. The terrace feels more homely, the menu has changed ( a bit )( look good, no mistakes in English!!! ) and even the food has improved, if possible! First time to Telendos. Stepped off the ferry boat and practically fell into Rita’s place. The welcome was okay, but we were told to close our menu books when we’d chosen our meal so the owner would know we were ready to order our meals, a bit of a strange request. Compared to other establishments in Kalymnos the quantity of food was a little on the light side. Annoyingly we were advised by who we presume was the owner that there were no beaches nearby where we could go to swim. It turns out there were, with other restaurants… I wonder why we were told not to move away ...

Great experience on cosy and laid-back Telendos. We had a few cold drinks upon arrival with the boat and came back after the beach for lunch.

Very good staff and have a trip to the Greek American who were going to travel from Kalymnos to Guam in a few days.
