August 2023, family (2+2), 50m^2 suite with a sea view: Overall our stay at Kos Palace was very positive. The hotel is not very big or crowded. The place is quiet, there is no 'all-inclusive' service nor loud evening events. For us, it was a positive thing as we were looking for a calm place for our vacation. If you however want nightlife and a lot of attractions, don't expect it there. For kids, there is no playground, playroom, or water slides, but there is a dedicated swimming area that our children (6y and 3y) loved. The pool area was clean with a lot of interesting plants around it. The hotel staff was very helpful and friendly. The sand beach is just across the street. Two sunbeds cost 6 euros per day. The beach is very narrow, but 'good enough' to spend time there as it's not crowded. The biggest flaw of the whole place is the proximity of the beach to the road. You will hear the street noise while on the beach. However, since the beach is so close to the hotel you can just go swim in the sea directly from the swimming pool area. Our suite was spacious (~50m^2). There were 2 rooms, a toilet with shower and bathtub. The kitchen had a fridge, a heating plate, and a sink. There are no dishes (only some cups) nor an electric kettle. The air conditioner was working well. We were able to hear the calming sound of the sea waves in the room. The suite itself was rather old-fashioned and not of a high standard, similar to other "4-star" hotels we saw in Greece. You can expect ants inside and some minor elements are broken. The rooms were cleaned every day if wanted. The food was very good. It was fresh and tasty. Don't expect fireworks, but you can eat there for many days with pleasure. You need to pay for beverages (even for water) during dinner, though. You can rent a car in the hotel, buy some basic stuff in the mini-market and eat lunch in the snack bar. About 5 minutes walk from the hotel there is another car rental place and a very good tavern (~10euro per meal). Around 25 minutes by foot there is center of Tigaki town with many bars and shops and stunning sandy beaches. Next to the hotel, there is a bus stop and you can go to Kos city and other places by bus. We also enjoyed the Lido waterpark (there is a free bus from Tigaki square).
Pros: Swimming area Cuisine Calm Sandy beach Cons: Road near the beach You need to pay for drinks...
Read moreSo the Kos Palace is no Palace, I'm shocked it's rated 4 star, at best it's 3 star, don't get me wrong for the most part we enjoyed our 10 days here but...|we booked a family room, first mistake - above our room is the roof, on the roof there are air conditioning units ( well that's what i think it was ) from 4am through 8pm the humming noise was so loud the family room with the kitchen in was unsleepable so we all had to use the bedroom, luckily there was a double and single bed in there, the noise was insane, it could be heard in the bedroom but was much better, there was an electric hot plate with two rings but one knife, 1 fork, 1 plate and absolutely nothing else, not a major issue as we bought a travel kettle and cups with us and we had no intention of cooking, just thought it was ridiculous, the room was tired - Shower riser rail broken so the shower head could not be raised at all, toilet roll holder falling off the wall, no plugs in basin or bath, plug sockets came out of walls when you pulled the plugs out, overall it really needs some TLC, we never had evening meals here but the reviews from people we met were not good so i wouldn't take half board, the public transport to town was rubbish and on one occasion the bus just carried on past us, every 1 1/2 hours so not regular enough, the reviews make you think it's walkable to town which to be fair it is about 30 mins but in 38 degree heat it is not walkable, some evenings we had no choice other than to walk back to the hotel, don't get me started on Taxis OMG I've never stayed anywhere this bad, the hotel would call you one if they can but the response would be maybe 1/2 hour but most likely won't turn up, from KOS harbor you have to queue like we did in the 80's-90's at the one Taxi rank there is no other way, |On the positive side the Pool is really big and a very nice spot, the staff are all really lovely and the breakfast is definitely worth getting up for, on most days the sunbeds were not fully occupied and there is never a rush, beds were always available up to 10-11 if not all day, all in all we had a nice holiday but that's mainly due to us being easy going, we definitely would not return or recommend this hotel, i am really surprised at the Tripadvisor overall review rating for this hotel...
Read moreSerious Child Safety Concern - NOT EU compliant
I recently stayed at Kos Palace hotel in Kos, Greece, booked through TUI in Junw 2025, and encountered a serious child safety issue that left me deeply concerned and disappointed.
The balcony in our room had a large gap—wide enough for a toddler to slip through. We only discovered this when our 2-year-old son wandered to that side while playing. It was an extremely distressing moment. We immediately pulled him back and decided not to use the balcony for the rest of our stay, limiting the comfort of our holiday significantly.
I reported this issue to the hotel during our stay, and there was even a TUI representative on-site whom we couldn't wait for due to our toddler's schedule. I formally submitted the complaint via my phone before checkout. Despite this, TUI later blamed me for reporting it "too late" and refused to take any responsibility—even though they acknowledged in writing that the balcony posed a safety risk and said they would fix it during renovations.
What’s most disappointing is the dismissive way TUI handled the situation:
No urgency in responding (it took nearly a month),
No ownership of the fact that a dangerous room was assigned to a family with a toddler,
No apology or goodwill gesture, despite me being a loyal customer for over five years.
This is not what I expect from a company like TUI, which claims to be family-friendly. I sincerely hope no other family goes through what we did. If you're traveling with young children, please double-check the safety conditions of your room – even when booking with a...
