Beware the excellent reviews from return guests for they get preferential treatment.||The apartments are in a decent location as mentioned by many others. The walk into the resort becomes a bit tedious along the main road, plodding through sand because there is no footpath for half of the distance. Where there is a footpath it is uneven with many holes so you wouldn't dare have more than one cocktail before walking back in the dark. There is a bus but the last one is scheduled for 22:10 or thereabouts (late season). I was planning to get the bus back one evening and was sitting finishing my drink when it went sailing past at 21:55. ||Lots of bars and restaurants to choose from. All doing much the same things. I only had one poor meal, a moussaka that tasted more like a corned beef hotpot. Edible but not what I expected.|(Ifestos)||Now to the apartments themselves.|The staff are lovely. The pool area is clean and well maintained. It all looks very pretty. Rooms are cleaned daily with fresh linen and towels. |When I arrived I was shown to room 15.|Initially it seemed OK. A bit dark and dated but adequate. (See photos)|The shower/toilet area is tiny. You can literally sit on the toilet, have a shower and brush your teeth at the sink simultaneously. I suspect that anyone with mobility issues would struggle in that confined space. (I couldn't take a photo because it's too small and I wasn't going to stand in the shower to do it.)|The patio doors open onto the road leading to the rear car park so if your curtains are open everyone can see in. Net type curtains would be useful here. The balcony gets very little sun because of the trees, which also make the room dark.|The main problem though is the noise.|The wall adjoins the bar. There is also a large corner of the room that seems to have been reassigned as the cleaners cupboard with access from the bar area.|In the evening the noise from the bar is audible as glasses and bottles are put on the shelf on the adjoining wall. Then they put the shutters up when the bar closes at 1. Those shutters are stored outside the door to room 15. I was woken one night with such a banging I thought that someone was breaking my door in! |Then the cleaners arrive for work just after 7; clanking mops and buckets in the cupboard in what sounds to be right in your room. I woke up every morning with a fright! |Then, obviously, they start to clean the bar and reception area, dragging tables and chairs over the tiled floors. Right next door. So no chance of getting back to sleep. ||Other issues with that room were that the TV didn't work, (not that I wanted to watch it but others might), and the air-conditioning worked but had one temperature; cold. I increased the temperature on the remote but even when it was set to 26° it still blasted out freezing cold air. ||I tolerated the room for a few days not wanting to be a pain but after 4 days of disturbed sleep I went to reception to request a room change. It's not manned but the lovely lady from the bar told me to speak to the owner. He was setting up the barbeque so I said I would wait until the morning but she said no, he won't mind, he's not busy.... |So I went to see him. I explained about the noise, he said he would tell the cleaners to be quiet.... What about the bar at night? What about the privacy and security issue? People can see into the room from the bar seating area. He became quite aggressive in his manner and spoke to me like I was a child. He was really patronising explaining that the hotel was full, he couldn't just give me another room there and then, he couldn't throw someone out of their room for me.... He said that he would have a look in the morning and let me know. So I said, well, when do you think that you will have a room? He said that he didn't know and he would see me when he had a room. |He was obviously quite annoyed with me so I said thank you and left it at that.||The next morning I happened to see the holiday rep so I mentioned the issue to her. She said that room allocation is up to the hotel. I explained that I had several trips booked and would be out of the hotel so the owner couldn't just turn up and say 'you can move now' because I might not be in to do it. Besides, they have changeovers six days a week so it shouldn't be too difficult to organise .|She spoke to the owner on my behalf and he got angry with her instead of me. They came to me later and said that I could move on Sunday. Another 3 days to wait. This is really not acceptable.||The next room was a big improvement. Room 12. With a short flight of stairs down to the door with a treacherous trip hazard at the top. (See photos)|This room has a whole TWO electrical sockets. One by the dressing table opposite the bed/s and the other in the kitchen area where there's a kettle, a two ring hob and a toastie maker. You just have to use them one at a time.|Oh, I almost forgot to mention, the toilet paper was a much better quality in the second apartment. What is that about? ||The accomodation advertised free high speed wi-fi. It is shocking. It just drops out for no reason but if you've got data roaming on you don't realise and you could end up clocking up a hefty bill. Get an eSIM if you're a regular user.||The pool bar is expensive. €5 for a bottle of Mythos. No wonder the hotel bar is deserted at night. It's cheaper in resort.|The holiday brochure states that the main bar serves food but I didn't see any evidence of that. Possibly because I didn't see anyone in the bar after 6pm.|The pool bar serves snack type food; breakfast, toasties, burgers etc. It's cooked fresh so it's nice but the prices are quite steep for what it is. Having said that, it saves you walking into resort so you're paying for the convenience. The food is tasty enough and is served with a smile.||Apart from the aforementioned trip hazard my other safety concerns are that the swimming pool gets very deep very quickly. There is no signage about pool depth so if you aren't a confident swimmer you will quickly find yourself out of your depth pretty much once you've cleared to steps. This is a worry for young children who often like to play around these areas.|Also, the play park is right next to the road into the hotel. It isn't enclosed at all and is hidden from the road by a tall hedge. So please make sure that your children are supervised so that they don't run onto the road because cars and coaches approaching the hotel can't see them.||As a regular solo traveller I have never felt so unwelcome.|The staff, as already mentioned, were pleasant but it was apparent that some guests were long standing returners so the place felt quite 'cliquey'. Nobody spoke, barely even to say 'good morning' in passing. Also, woe betide if you have the audacity to choose a sunbed that one of the regulars has earmarked as theirs for the duration of their holiday, which I obviously did one day. I could have cut the air with one of the daggers that she kept sending me.|The next morning she was there before the sun was barely out, wrapped up nice and warm, just to nab her space. I was leaving that morning so she had no reason to sacrifice her lie in but she obviously wasn't taking that risk... |There are plenty of sunbeds. The beach is just at the end of the road. This, though, is the mentality of some of the return guests. It might explain why few spoke to me. I wasn't at the pool very much but I think that I may have upset several people by inadvertently taking their chosen spot. How very sad. ||Apart from a weekly barbeque that you have to book in advance, there is nothing on at the hotel. |The complex is quiet. Too quiet. I have had more laughs in a mortuary than I had in two weeks at the Miros Apartments. ||I know that I won't be missed, but all the same, I...
Read moreWe had a relaxing holiday in this little hotel. The room was basic but was as expected. It was kept perfectly clean with regular towel changes. There were also blankets in the room for colder nights in October. A hairdryer was provided. |The kitchen facilities were basic - a fridge with enough room to store food, snacks and drinks, a toastie maker which we used to make toast for breakfast and two hobs. We were able to cook pasta with vegetables and a sauce on the hob a couple of nights and the other nights we ate out as there were so many good restaurants nearby. The hotel provided some fairy liquid and a sponge scourer and a tea towel for washing up which was handy. |Sun loungers around the pool are comfortable. Staff were always eager to help and even arranged for my laundry to be washed when I enquired about washing machine facilities. |It’s about 1km to reach the main street with restaurants on it. About 500m requires walking on the road or on the beach - either felt safe, though bring a torch for walking back at night along the beach. There’s a short cut through a field near the hotel, as long as the cows aren’t there! There are lots of great restaurants - we didn’t find any bad ones. Our favourites were Vasilis and King size. For breakfast and lunch try the bakery, Pannapalis, who serve delicious crepes and waffles. For desserts try Yoca, the ice cream shop opposite Vasilis. |We hired bikes from Nikos and used these to cycle back and forwarded to the shops, or to cycle to the restaurant Ampeli which is 2km away from the hotel but worth a visit. We also cycled to Kos town, about 12km away, about 6km cycling on mostly flat roads then approximately 6km on the flat cycle path which began at Lambi beach all the way to Kos harbour. There’s whole route felt safe (safer than cycling in UK), though maybe the roads are much busier in the summer than in October when we were there. |Only two negatives of the hotel for me - The shower had a curtain which made the small shower area feel much smaller and although the shower pressure was strong, the drainage wasn’t great, so it tended to flood the bathroom a little. Secondly, the wifi in the room wasn’t great and didn’t automatically connect, which I didn’t...
Read moreWe arrived late evening and check in was fast and simple. No faff. Room was spotlessly clean - and a nice cold bottle of water in the fridge. Perfect start!||In the morning we were not sure what to expect, but as soon as we got to the pool area we were at ease - clean, tidy, plenty of sun beds to go around and not a cloud in the sky.||Now for the food - which is always a struggle for me as someone with celiac disease. Couldn’t have been more helpful. My wife spoke with Sam (one of the managers I believe) and she assured that it would be no problem as she too is a celiac; she provided me with Gluten Free bread and had a separate toaster so no risk of cross contamination. I was able to have pretty much everything I wanted as GF - apart from the sausages. My kids also loved the food, as did my wife. They clean EVERYTHING (pans, counters, chopping boards, juicers……etc) after every use as standard. Nothing is just left to sit and gather flies.||Miros is tucked away a bit - not on the main road, but the beach is literally a 5min walk and the main strip is only a 15min walk. As it’s tucked away, only the people that are staying there use the facilities, so doesn’t get crowded at all.||After a few bad holidays over the last few years, we were very apprehensive, so only booked a week. Absolutely gutted we didn’t book two!! We were hoping to find somewhere that we would return to - we found it.||There were 4 of us in one room - so it was a bit cramped; fine if your kids are young, but my 17 & 12 year old daughters are used to their own space so we would book two rooms next time - but other than that, we had a great time. ||They even have removable shower curtains that they take away and wash. ||Late checkout was no problem either. €30 - which I think is fair.||Thanks so much for making our stay a great one.||We...
