Normally we go on a motor yacht around the islands for 10 nights but as the boat was sold late last year we wanted to stay on Kos. Having married in Psalidi in 2016 and spent a number of holidays at the Oceanis we thought lets see what Kardamena has to offer. We always said we would spend our 10th Wedding anniversary where we got married in Psalidi but The Nicolas Grand and its fantastic staff have taken our hearts. So we will be back next year end of May this time.|I liked the look of the hotel and wanted a adults only but not an all inclusive. The Bed and Breakfast option was ideal. The company again were fantastic.|First impressions: Great welcome from front of house. As we were slightly early we didn't have to wait long for our room. Complementary drinks from Alex were greatly received. Our room was on the first floor on the side with great views all round. Our room was well presented clean and welcoming. You have a fridge with some water and some soft drinks. Water is replaced each day for you and we used it for extra bottles and wine of course. You get complementary toiletries, slippers etc but no robes. You can borrow beach towels for 10 euros for 2 which you can replace as many times as you like. You have a TV not much in English not even the BBC news , which you seem to always get. But then why do you want to sit in your room watching the television when there is so much to explore. You can link you ipad etc to the TV but we could never figure it out. I should have just asked to be fair. You have a large safe easy to program and will easily take your ipads phones camera passports etc. You have tea and coffee making facilities but no milk. We usually bought a glass up with milk up from breakfast and put in the fridge. You get a pod coffee machine but again no milk. These are replaced each day for you.|Bed was fantastic so comfy. We got a great nights sleep.|The bathroom well set out with a large shower however the strange thing is the height of the wc pan. I had read reviews were people said they couldn't touch the floor when sat down and that is so true. Bit strange but it was fine we did have a good have a good laugh at it.|We had the lift next to our room but to be honest we never even heard it once.|The hotel is spotless the staff are so friendly and work hard to let you enjoy your holiday. I didn't get our room staffs name who clean and made our room each day but she is a credit to the hotel. Always smiling and friendly, Thank you.. Front of house Stephania and Mary you rock. Always there to help and provide advice if needed. Cant wait to see you next year. If you have dietary needs please let the hotel know in advance if possible so they are prepared.|You can if you want take a tray to your room and enjoy those breakfast views front your balcony. There is a kettle near the coffee machine with a great selection of teas and coffees. If its low just ask and it will be filled for you. Great selection of breads for toast or with fresh meats and cheeses etc. I cannot fault the food at all.|The hotel has a small book area for you to grab a book and return when finished. Seating inside ,poolside or out front.|Pool is clean not heated but never freezing cold. Deeper at one end but I could still stand ok. Pool area is clean plenty of beds and they are sooo comfy too. No problems getting one plenty to go round. Music and bar during the day , not loud and banging but a nice back ground to your relaxing day. We went out during the day and came back for a cocktail or too and a dip as the pool is open till about 8.|The bar is open until about 10 so if you want to spend a night indoors you can nip down. Pay at the bar or book to your room. Prices are slightly dearer than resort but you expect that in a hotel.|For those who want a bit of exercise plenty of places to walk mostly flat just on the edge of the village but not far to walk in and some really good Tavernas nearby. You also have a small outside gym and floor mats to work off that great breakfast.|Basement you have a case/bag store, shower and more wcs . So if like us you have alate flight home you could leave everything secure go out for the day after checking out at 11 and you know you can shower when you get back.|There is a laundry service too but as with all hotels its not cheap. I have seen some places in the village were you can wash your clothes if needed.|What more can I say, its a great hotel, great rooms, great breakfast and bar, great pool and beds BUT most of all, Great Staff. The hotel tax was €140 for a 2 week stay and we paid €10 for 2 pool/beach towels which we could change for clean ones anytime we needed to.|We were shown to our seaview suite, 116, with a huge balcony containing chairs with a table, 2 beanbag type loungers with a small table and a pullout drying rack. We had a large bedroom, separate good sized lounge area with storage for clothes, coffee/tea making facilities including a coffee machine and a mini fridge. a separate bathroom with walk in shower. The beds were the sturdy wooden kind with a thick mattress and were very comfortable. The pool was a good size and had ladders at both the shallow and deep ends. There is a pool bar from 10.00am which offers warm and cold beverages plus some lovely meals at reasonable prices.|The hotel staff are exceptional, professional, polite and nothing was too much.|Stefania worked at reception and greeted us every morning with a smile and always asked how we were.|Breakfast and the bar was manned by Alex who was always helpful and smiling. Alexandra also worked at the bar she knew our orders and was so lovely and chatty. |Stavros was the night clerk and is such a polite pleasant gentleman. Then we had Mary who worked the reception and breakfast and was so helpful with knowledge of the island and recommendations for trips. Read moreWe was blown away with how nice this hotel was, check in was with Mary, who showed us around our suite, including how the hot tub works. Alex greeted us with a oozo cocktail, which was very well recieved.| The suite was on the top floor(3rd) and it was amazing... our balcony showed views of the sea/beach and mountains, also if we opened the front door you could see the pool and pool bar. The pool was never busy and you could always get a sunbed (really comfy)if you needed. The Pool is lovely, if a little cold. |Air con was in the living area and the bedroom with no extra cost... and as we arrived with the temp being 33-42 degrees for the week it was definitely needed after a day at the beach. The rooms got cleaned every day and towels changed every day. The room smelt beautiful after every clean. |We had bed and breakfast, breakfast was lovely, with lots of choice... continental (cheese/breads/salads/cakes/fruit/cereals/yoghurts)and also hot breakfast (eggs, bacon, sausage, beans, hashbrowns, mushrooms and many more) |There is a 3 minute walk to banana beach which has approx 10/12 sunbeds you can hire for €8 for 2 beds and a umbrella. It is really quiet/peaceful,the banana beach bar is great for breakfast/lunch or just a drink depending on what you have in your hotel/apartments. We used it for lunch and a couple of drinks every day. Food is lovely, and really reasonable. If you wanted to walk further towards the town most bars/restaurants have sunbeds that are free if you eat/drink in there or a charge if you don't, but they are really busy and alot noisier. The town is a 5 minute walk, and it has so many shops, bars and great restaurants to chose from. The location is fantastic and is in easy reach of everything. We paid €70 for the tax for the week and then we kept the room on the day we left due to having our pick up at 6pm and it was 44 degrees, but be prepared to pay as we got charged €140, which was our only disappointment and quite shocked to how much it was...It was a fantastic holiday, kardemena was superb and we would return to this hotel.
