Had high hopes for this place given the reviews, but sadly the food let this restaurant down. I called ahead to book a table for 8:30pm, but it was insisted upon that I came at 8pm because the kitchen closes at 10pm. (For only 3 of us I couldnāt imagine it would take us a whole 2 hours to eat but we changed our plans so we could get there for 8pm.)
The waiters were friendly, though the service was pretty slow (maybe why we were made to come at 8pm instead of 8:30pm?)
We ordered starters which were tasty, nothing mind blowing but they did the job.
For mains we ordered the seafood platter for 2 and a stuffed calamari. Sadly the platter was a real let down. There was one small prawn for each person, a handful of calamari, a tiny dish of octopus in vinegar, a few mussels and two entire sea bream (which seemed overkill given that everything else we were given was such small portions). The calamari and prawns were really tough and dry, the mussels were also not quite right and we left most of them. The octopus was fine as was the sea bream but there was so much sea bream we only managed to get through one.
We were shocked the platter didnāt come served with anything (not even chips which we had to order extra) given that it was ā¬55. We would have appreciated it far better if they had served just one fish and given us some chips or extra prawns/calamari instead.
My father said his stuffed calamari was fine. Whether that was to try and salvage the meal or not, I am unsure.
We were given some free yogurt with caramelised grapes as a dessert, which were tasty.
Overall we were disappointed to have paid so much money for mediocre food. The service was friendly but very slow and itās only because the waiters were friendly that Iāve given 3 stars...

Having just came away from the Anemos Restaurant for the second time in 7 days Iād have expected to be happy and full of praise however that isnt the case, sadly.
We went on our first full night in Kardamaina (Wednesday) because of a recommendation from our barman Alex and had a nice meal of souvlaki & moussaka. Service was attentive and the price was excellent. Roll on to Tuesday the following week and we couldnāt have had a bigger turn around. Sadly the service was slow as they had some bigger tables of locals in and seemed to forget there was other diners who needed attention. As for the food, this time we added starters to our order so had stuffed vine leaves, fried courgette along with moussaka (again) and calamari. Sadly as the starters were bland & tasteless and the main course of calamari was inedible. It was tough and chewy and not a patch on the one I had along at the Pelagos restaurant days earlier. It really ruined our impression of the restaurant and puts the old saying of āyou should never go backā to the...
Ā Ā Ā Read moreLetās start with the view. The view to the east and the mountains and the sea view of Kos are the amuse. The service is attent and the menu is authentic. We chose for mezes for our complete meal and werenāt disappointed. The fried zucchini was the best we had during our visit and the bread based skordalia is exceptional. The smoked eggplant salade is also a must, just scrumptious. The tuna salad was fresh and flavorful and lest we forget the spicy pepper feta spread, also a must. Our choice for the grilled shrimp was also a bullseye, fresh and grilled to perfection. We did not have room for the main courses but everything we saw served at other tables was impressive. You cannot go wrong with what you choose here. Come for the service, food, view and ambiance and experience Kos and...
