We recently enjoyed an 8-night stay at this remarkable hotel, and from start to finish, our experience was nothing short of exceptional. If you are seeking a quiet, peaceful, and relaxing holiday away from the noise, this property is a true gem. From the moment we arrived, the staff demonstrated a level of friendliness and helpfulness that exceeded our expectations. They promptly provided us with all the necessary information about the hotel, Marmari, and other noteworthy places to explore on the island. The hotel staff truly enhanced our stay, making it an absolute pleasure to interact with them.
The hotel is situated in a remote area so if you prefer having shops, restaurants, and other amenities nearby, consider hiring a car as reaching them will require some walking. However, we enjoyed the quiet location and found the walk to be manageable.
Regarding our accommodations, we stayed in room 456, a superior room in the older building. The room was well-maintained, clean, and spacious, with a beautiful garden and pool view. The bed was very comfortable, providing us with restful nights. New and clean towels, including beach towels, were provided to us daily. To ensure you receive fresh towels, leave your used ones on the floor, and the same applies to bed sheets. It is worth noting that the television channels are predominantly in German, which may be a consideration for those who watch TV while on holiday and don’t speak/understand German. However, this was not an issue for us, and we are certain that the staff would be more than willing to assist if needed.
The food at the restaurant was delicious, offering a variety of high-quality options to suit different tastes. Although there are four swimming pools on the property, guests staying in the older building have access only to the main pool, which we found to be large and impeccably clean. There were plenty of sunbeds available, many of which were conveniently located in shaded areas.
Regarding the beach, while there is no private beach, Marmari Beach is approximately a 15-20 minute walk from the hotel. Depending on your walking pace, this can be done in a shorter time. Alternatively, the hotel provides a complimentary mini-bus service that takes you to the beach in just 3 minutes. The shuttle operates at 9:00 am and 9:30 am for departures, with return trips at 1:00 pm and 1:30 pm. If you prefer exploring different beaches around the island, car hire is also an option. For us, the mini-bus was very convenient. To visit Kos Town, or other nearby towns, you can take the bus, which costs €2.30 each way. The hotel provides a timetable for convenience, or, again, you may opt to hire a car.
While the hotel primarily caters to German tourists, this did not pose any challenges for us. We conversed with the staff mainly in Greek and occasionally in English, and we were pleased to find that they are fluent in German, Greek, and English, ensuring seamless communication. So communication will not be an issue if you don’t speak German.
Overall, we highly recommend this hotel to anyone, including our family and friends. We look forward to returning...
Read moreWe stayed a week at this hotel. I would highly recommend booking a deluxe room in the newer villas as these are much more modern and spacious. I would say the deluxe rooms are furnished to a 4* standard. The superior rooms are also good, however smaller and less soundproof. Rooms were spotless and the cleaners are very kind and work hard to keep the resort spotless. Air conditioning in both rooms was great. The grounds are very nice and well maintained by the gardeners.
Most hotel staff were kind and friendly. A special shout out to Alexis on reception who helped us sort late checkout on the last day after being told by another receptionist that this was not possible. Reception were also great when we needed to find a doctor to come to the hotel. I would say checkout was slightly inefficient as there was a long queue and all 3 staff on the desk were speaking to the same customer at times
Unfortunately like others, we were woken up every morning by furniture being dragged around.
We were half board. We were disappointed with the breakfast especially finding that orange squash was served instead of orange juice, we have never experienced this in a hotel. The fruit was the only thing we enjoyed so we stopped waking up for breakfast. There were different dinner options every night however the food wasn’t the best quality and the selection was small, there were also very few main dishes for vegetarians. I would recommend room only. NOA beach club in kardamena is worth a visit if you are looking for good quality food.
The hotel is not in a built up location and there is no hotel entertainment. It is peaceful but can become slightly boring after a few days with little in walking distance. I would hire a car to explore the area. Reception were great and helped us find a car for a good price.
Some suggestions -a shuttle minibus to Marmari beach would make the hotel more desirable -more vegetarian mains at dinner -more staff at the pool bar making drinks -an option to order drinks from the deluxe villa pools (maybe via qr code) as drinks were only served to loungers at the main pool
I would also like to mention that there are lots of steps around the complex which would be difficult for someone with limited mobility
Overall the staff are very hard working and lovely. The deluxe rooms are lovely but I would not agree with other reviewers that say the hotel is up to a 4* standard so please...
Read moreI have recently returned from a weeks stay at the Palladium Hotel in Marmari on the island of Kos. I want to say that we had a wonderful time and the hotel was top notch. It was great value for money and the staff were just fantastic. We arrived late and the guy on reception checked us in and helped us carry the bags to our room. We do recommend that you book a deluxe room, it is well worth the extra expense. The room was well appointed with a double bed, TV, sitting area and dressing table, the wardrobe was adequate for 2 people but could do withy a few extra hangers. There was tea and coffee making facilities and a fridge. The bathroom had a toilet, sink and a shower, all worked fine. The balcony overlooked the adults area pools. This brings me on to the pools, there is a main pool and jacuzzi near the hotel for everybody's access and there 3 adults only pools by the deluxe room buildings. The pools are clean and clear. The adults only pools are large enough for a decent swim. We stayed on a bed and breakfast basis and we ate lunch in the hotel on 4 days out of 7. The food is excellent and I would like to thank the efforts of Themis and Brunhilda for their hard work. |Now there is only a couple of issues and they have nothing at all to do with the hotel and its amazing staff. There is nothing at all in Marmari; near the hotel is 1 Taverna (The Aegean) that thankfully served great food and there are 2 bars within walking distance. The beach is a 30 minute walk from the hotel and there are a few beach bars there, otherwise there is nothing else. Note: the hotel puts on a complimentary bus service to the beach each day.|Thankfully there is also a regular bus into Kos Town and the stop is 2 minute walk from the hotel if you want a livelier night out.|As well as the adults only area there are family rooms and a family area at the hotel where kids can enjoy themselves without disturbing others. |The hotel appears to be geared up for German holidaymakers and hence it is clean, tidy and serves good food, there are a lot of German guests, for which I do not have a problem as I speak the language. |Note: Checkout is 12:00 pm and it is worth asking if you can keep your room on if you have a late flight home. There is a charge for this and I would like to thank Anastasia for her help with...
