The staff are incredible. Super friendly, helpful and understanding. I stayed 4 nights last week with a friend who had a separate room.
Room: I experienced a few issues during my stay. Firstly the room wasn’t clean on arrival, rubbish and hair were on the floor. This was swiftly dealt with by the housekeeping team. The safe wasn’t working, this was fixed by the maintenance man. Then the toilet was leaking. They couldn’t get a plumber to attend until the next morning so they offered to move me rooms in the evening, which I accepted. I transferred my belongings into the new room and as we’d had an early start travelling that morning, I looked forward to a restful nights sleep. However when I pulled the sheet to got into bed, several bugs were crawling around, two were even inside the pillowcase! It felt like no one had used that room for several days. I was instantly put on edge as my head had literally just been on that pillow! As it was late evening, housekeeping were not available so I had to wait until the following morning for the sheets to be replaced. I had a very unsettled night thinking bugs were crawling over me. I also was woken up in the middle of the night as the router that was taped to the wall fell down. To be honest, even after they replaced the sheets the following morning the subsequent nights were also unsettled as I continued to find bugs throughout the room on the floor/on the sofa. The router was again stuck to the wall but it later fell down again.
Wardrobes do not have the length to hang anything longer than a shirt up. No where to hang long dresses.
Restaurant/food: The food is incredible. Very well thought out, unique and flavoursome. Breakfast had good buffet options.
The only option for dinner is fine dining which is very limiting and expensive if you are staying at the hotel. A 3 course meal costs around 65€-70€ without drinks. This isn’t sustainable every night and we felt some non fine dining options (like what’s on offer for lunch) should have been made available for hotel guests. The portions for both lunch and dinner are small but very unique and flavoursome. Average price for a one course lunch was 20€. Cocktails are around 16€ and a non alcoholic cocktail averages 12€
Building work: They are expanding the hotel and as such there is constant loud building work noises that start in the morning and continue throughout the day and into the evening. We felt this should have been communicated ahead of our stay as it was disruptive.
Gym: The small gym wasn’t accessible in the mornings during our stay as it had been booked out for private sessions. It wasn’t possible to move any of the equipment out of the gym to use elsewhere during these sessions.
Payment: At check out, reception had issues with the card machine and as such we had to be emailed a link to settle our invoices. This delayed our departure and we were 15 minutes late leaving.
Overall I felt a bit disappointed with our stay especially in line with the room rates and food costs. We had an incredible time but the little things matter and really frame an overall experience. I really hope they can iron out these issues before the expansion...
Read moreMy girlfriend and I stayed at Koukoumi for 5 nights a few weeks back now, we were blown away with how perfect the hotel is and it made our entire holiday.
The hotel/room - the hotel is immaculately presented with all the amenities needed for a relaxing trip away. It's a fairly small hotel, but for me this was a big plus. The room was spotlessly clean and comfortable, containing everything you'd need for a few days away. The rooms are also very stylish. The pool area was a great place to relax in the day with plenty of comfortable seats and beds for every guest, great access to the bar and restaurant from the pool.
The restaurant/bar - the restaurant was mind-blowing. It was already a huge relief for me knowing all my meals were going to be vegan as finding suitable meals is something I often struggle with when away from home, the level of the food in addition to this was astonishing. Massive range of different, unique meals for lunch and dinner all cooked and presented perfectly. We went for the full board option allowing us 2 courses for lunch and dinner. It was actually exciting planning what to have for each meal. Additionally the breakfast buffet was well stocked and changed slightly each day which was great. The bar was great, plenty of wines available with a few decent beers but the real highlight was the incredible cocktails prepared by the knowledgeable bar staff. We booked in for the cocktail making course on one of the days and I highly recommend this. We were guided through the cocktail making experience to a detailed level by the very friendly Demitris. It was a really fun few hours, resulting in a few cocktails to takeaway and enjoy after. Further to this Demitris continued to give us insights into how he was making cocktails when we sat at the bar during the rest of the stay.
Staff - the staff are absolutely fantastic. The hotel management should be really proud of the team they've assembled here. From front of house and room cleaning, to waiters and bar staff, chefs and everything in between the staff could not have done more to make us feel relaxed and welcome. From friendly chats at the dinner table to helpful advice on activities in and outside the hotel it was a pleasure to be in their company.
Hotel location - perfect location for us. About 20 mins drive outside of Mykonos town with beautiful beaches and smaller towns and wineries on the doorstep, it was exactly right for our trip. I would recommend a hired mode of transport as it's not easy to walk around the area, however it takes next to no time to get around the small island.
Overall - 10/10 experience. Will 100 percent be visiting again and couldn't recommend more to anyone (particularly anyone Vegan).

Read moreThere are some wonderful elements to this hotel. The food is, on the whole, exceptional. Breakfast offers a choice of one a la carte item, and a buffet selection. The bed is incredibly comfortable with good shutters to block out the light. Some staff were very helpful, especially the lady on check-in. I really enjoyed my cooking lesson, although it was more watching than doing, the recipes were creative and easy to replicate at home. The little gifts after the class was a nice touch. They were also very good at identifying what I could/couldn't have due to allergies.
However, there were quite a few elements which mean I wouldn't return.
this is not an adults only hotel, despite the impression it gives and lack of any kids food on the menu. I'd never book a hotel with kids allowed for a relaxing break and it was really disruptive on the days children were screaming and splashing around in the pool.
As another review mentions, the water pressure in the toilet in room 13 is too high and results in dirty toilet water leaking onto the floor regardless how gently you flush the toilet.
While some of the service was very good, it was overall not as attentive as other 5* hotels I've stayed in, especially at meal times. There is no drinks service at the pool, you have to go to the bar to order. On at least two meals my bill was incorrect, again a sort of minor point but goes to the attentiveness of service.
A sort of minor point, but 6 teas are displayed at breakfast but only 3 are included in the cost. This just seems cheap by the hotel not to offer a range of teas (especially as I have an orange allergy and couldn't have the single type of juice offered).
A kettle is provided in the room but no tea, only a couple of nespresso capsules. I was told very explicitly on arrival no outside items were allowed, so what was the point of the kettle?
I didnt like the lack of traditional loungers, there's a mix of reclining chairs and actual bed type options. Neither of which are very comfortable. There's also not umbrellas with full coverage (they're all a criss cross type weave), meaning you can't use loungers but be out of the sun fully.
I felt very uncomfortable that there was someone doing a professional photo shoot around the pool, and other promotional photos being taken ad hoc. This is not conducive to relaxing and I certainly don't want to be disturbed by a photo shoot when trying to relax. If someone wants to do this, the hotel should ensure it's done when guests are not around the areas being photographed
For the reasons above I wouldn't return to the hotel, but might drive for a meal if I was back...
