Naxos Island Escape — Hotel in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

We had the absolute pleasure of staying at Island Escape Naxos, thanks to the one and only Marios. It was without doubt the best hotel and service we have ever experienced. Marios instantly made us feel so welcome and at home. He arranged our pickup from the airport so it was so easy and smooth arriving. My partner and I had just travelled all the way from New Zealand so we were quite exhausted and jet lagged. Thankfully, Marios kindly made us coffee, showed us around and gave us a quick lowdown on Naxos. The perfect amount of information we needed for one day. We had the time of our lives. The hotel is located just a minute walk from the most beautiful Plaka beach. It is pure magic. The sand is soft and doesn't stick to you, the ocean is like silk. The beach such a wonderful energy. We wanted to stay forever. We stayed for 8 nights in the first week of June, the weather was perfect. Blue sky and sunshine every day. Marios brought out the most wonderful breakfast every morning! The best coffee and most delicious homemade Greek pastries. As well as fresh bread, fruits, eggs (just how we like them), greek yoghurt and local honey. It was the perfect way to start our day. We had unlimited information, local tips and laughs from Marios. He was born to host!! We honestly miss staying there so much!! We had the most beautiful upgrade and stayed in the Executive Suite Sea view. It had everything we needed. So beautiful, welcoming, clean, open and comfortable. We had the best sleeps in the huge comfy bed. The aircon worked really well but we liked sleeping with the windows open with fresh air. The shower was funky and we loved the atmospheric lights in the room at night. We had enough storage and a safe to keep our valuables. The wine in the mini fridge was absolutely delicious. The balcony was spacious with a nice view. We loved sitting on the balcony in the mornings and evenings in the sunshine, listening to the birds and the waves. The hotel is nice and small so its super quiet and peaceful. Anyone we met were so friendly and kind. Even Marios' cat called 'Grumpy' haha. The hotel is walking distance to lots of cafes and restaurants. It was fun going to lots of different spots for lunch and dinner. One of our favourite restaurants down the road from Island Escape was called 'Petrino Beach Restaurant' The food was so delicious and the service was superb! We hired quads for 5 days and Marios gave us the best tips on where to visit around the island. We found the most beautiful private beaches. We were also so glad we took Marios advice and went into the town centre to do the walk up to the Apollo Temple for sunset one evening and cocktails to follow. We stayed for 8 nights altogether. We were so sad to leave. We wished we had booked a second week! It was such great value for money. We could not recommend this enough. I have already got my friends and family to get it booked! Wow! Just, WOW! From the moment I booked to the moment we left, I have been amazed by the kindness & generosity of Marios and his beautiful wife, Eleftheria. Marios just went above & beyond, recommending restaurants, arranging taxis, and one morning we were surprised by our ATVs turning up at breakfast which he kindly arranged & saved us so much time! He has been so patient & knowledgeable; he even arranged an incredible cake for my partners 40th and was so kind to put up decorations in the bar & in our room as a surprise for Nick. The breakfast was so delicious, freshly cooked, the omelettes were perfect! The Greek yoghurt & pie & cake each morning with fresh juice was brilliant, perfectly light & kept us going! I can’t say enough good things, Marios cares so much about his guests, he is so friendly, so welcoming, so kind, sp fun, so warm, as is Eleftheria. It felt like staying with family, they work so hard and it is truly beautiful what they have built. The rooms are so cute and relaxing, I loved the decor, it was like living in little boutique caves, all unique and fresh, the masonry was amazing with how they have been put together, & so comfy! It was so hard saying goodbye, we can’t thank them enough for making our stay on Naxos so wonderful & so relaxing, and we hope to welcome them to the UK and extend the same hospitality in future. Anyone who wants to work in hospitality needs to come here & learn what it is to show care & give exceptional “customer service” because you’d learn a lot from Marios. The positivity filtered across some of the other lovely couples we were lucky to share the hotel with, and it was a lovely little community of friendly people, brought together by Marios. It is a perfect location, easy to walk up to the main stretch of restaurants, and the beach area at the end of road was perfect to visit, such a quiet, tranquil spot!
