A place to avoid, specially if you are with kids. Very bad mood and vibe from the very beginning. We went for dinner on August 14, 2025, 8:15 pm. It took a life for the guy taking orders to come to the table, even if the restaurant was still not crowed. Once he took note of the appetizers, we then ordered the main dishes, and when ordered a filet mignon well done, he replied that he can only do maximum medium rare, otherwise it looses the taste. We replied that it was for the kids (7 and 3 years old), and wanted it well done. He answered that he was not going to do it well done, and maximum he can do is medium rare, otherwise order chicken or meatballs. We asked then for rib-eye or picanha, also well done, and he kept answering very rudely the same thing: these two other dishes also maximum medium rare. We were shocked by that answer and when insisted that we wanted it well done for the kids, he replied that no way, he was not going to do it well done and asked us to read again the menu and chose a different thing for the kids, and left. We called the waiter and explained what happened, the waiter apologized but told us that the one in charge of taking orders was that guy and he couldn’t do anything. We asked then for the bill (only bread and drinks had arrived), paid (even if was totally undeserved) and left. Never ever again. Last year August 2024 we also went there, for lunch, the service was also very slow and to some extent nervous with the kids (there were several tables and were complaining about them, which is absurd in an island with lot of families). We wanted to give a second chance, but no way, not anymore. There are many other places around with much better and friendlier service, this place do not deserve a visit. You cannot put a guy like this to manage...
Read moreEvery time we came to Naxos we passed by Petrino and we loved it. This year they were unacceptable, it was a joke.
Bad service, they ignored us for 30 minutes and served others who came after us, the general atmosphere was like working in a prison cell. They brought bread without asking, bad quality white bread, 3,5€ price. We ordered potatoes with Naxos P.O.P. gruyere hard cheese and they brought us potatoes with a buttery sauce that was probably milk, butter, flour and xanthan gum with yellow color. It didn't even taste anything. Don't kid yourself, shame on you, is this Naxos hard cheese? You charge 3.5€ -4€ extra for this on top of your overpriced reheated potatoes? Do not order the Dakos salad! Huge bread rusk, not at all moist with a chopped half tomato, frozen with a tiny portion of feta cheese on top. Dry and tasteless dish not worth 10€. It would barely be worth 4€ or less. The highlight was the appetizer moussakato? It was supposed to be a traditional recipe with potatoes, minced meat, eggplant... the ingredients of moussaka. It was a bowl of uncooked lukewarm béchamel soup with fried potatoes swimming in it and I guess other leftovers from the kitchen. Disgusting. The main course which was meatballs “biftekia” “burger” was good. Just meatballs with potatoes, of course plus the sauce with xanthine, but good.
We didn't want to make a scene, we paid and left without saying anything, we didn't want to ruin our vacation. But I regretted it, I had to talk about it that’s why I'm writing this review. Too bad for the place, if it keeps going like this it...
Read moreThis is strictly a review of the BEACH CHAIR section. We came here last year and had a great time, spending 5-6 hours and over 100 euros as a couple and it was one of our best memories of Naxos. Joey - the waiter - is one of a kind and very good at what he does.
But this year (summer 22) we were greeted by the manager of the beach chairs (aka the Lord of the Loungers) and it was the most disappointing interaction in all of Naxos, which is mainly friendly and relaxing.
We asked how much the chairs were - and the answer was 30 euros. Since many of the other beaches on the same strip have tiered pricing - ranging from 10 to 30 euros - I asked the question: how come it is much higher than other beaches?
Without hesitating, the manager told me “you should go to the other beaches then”, while making a very dismissive motion with his hand, telling us to go away basically. In disbelief, I asked why he was speaking to me like that, and that I was there to enjoy the beach and order food and drinks - he stonewalled me and just stared me down. It was very unenjoyable and so we simply walked away and went next door, where we paid 15 euros with two free coffees.
The joy of capitalism is you can vote with your wallet. But some guys are just really unhappy and take it out on customers. That is simply...
