After thinking about the positives of staying here, at Plaka camping, is that we were picked up from the port. However, when we arrived at the campsite we wished that we had never been collected. ||On arrival, we checked in and were shown to our tent. Nothing else; no explanation where the kitchens/ loos/ showers were. We were only shown our little blue tent and the two filthy mattresses which were covered in pubes, sand and grime. To the say the least we were disgusted.||||Bathroom experience:||First thing to note is that there are no locks on any shower doors or bathroom stalls. In addition to the lack of privacy, in the morning we were not so warmly greeted with piles of poo in the toilets (all 8 of them) with some of them overflowing, it reminded me of a somewhat brown Niagara Falls. ||||Even though you get what you pay for, I honestly think that for the price that we did pay, we could have been treated much better not only in terms of customer service, but also in terms of our...
Read moreWe went there during the mid of August. For some reason, too many French teenagers come in groups. They are noisy to say the least and don't respect the facilities (hygiene, pool).
Apart from that, the toilets aren't in a great condition. They don't get cleaned frequently and the pipes of the bathrooms are clogged so water fills the whole room with water.
Next, there is basically no kitchen other than a room with a couple of dirty fridges which is shared with the kitchen of the restaurant. The room is full of flies.
I would highly NOT recommend the restaurant cuisine other than a coffee since you tell they use rotten tomatoes (you can see them) full of flies.
There is also a pool, which is nice but as I said, at least during our stay too many french teenagers make too much of a fuss.
Other than that, the place is next to Plaka beach which is a beatiful place, it has shade and plenty of places to pick your spot.
Come...
Read moreWe have booked our studio expecting (as described and promised) a room with terrace, tv, hairdryer, completely furnished kitchen, hot water, sea view and WiFi. What we got was a basement without pans and plates, where hot water and electricity often didn’t work, there were no WiFi and hairdryer at all, the tv was not an international plasma as said. At some point one bed disappeared from our room and when we asked the manager he said to us that it was needed in another room and that we could sleep on the sofa. This was absurd. He promised us to bring it back the day after but we haven’t seen the bed for the rest of our permanence. We have felt teased as young girls and therefore not treated the same way as the other guests. The island is full of hostels and campings and we advice you to choose a better one. Plaka camping was really...
