Ploes Seaside Houses — Hotel in Municipality of Naxos and the Lesser Cyclades

We stayed at Ploes Seaside for our honeymoon in August and had an amazing stay. The rooms themselves are clean and modern looking with decent beds, good air conditioning, a small fridge and even a Nespresso maker which we made good use of in the mornings.

We stayed in a Superior Double for most of our stay, and switched to the standard double for the last as we booked pretty last minute so the same room type was already booked up for our final day. The main difference between the two is the superior has a lot more floor space, and a larger seating area outside with a full table and sun lounger. Otherwise both were high quality rooms with matching amenities. I'd recommend both, though if you are staying for a week or more, you may want to go for the Superior for more of a home away from home feel.

The location is perfect. Only a 5-10 minute walk and you are on a prime stretch of Plaka beach. And as you walk the beach there is endless hotels and restaurants that rent out sun beds and offer great places to eat. There is even a grocery store in the hotel next door where you can buy essentials. You are relatively close to everything, but also are on the quiet and better sand end of Plaka, so it's truly the best of both worlds.

The owner, Christos, is very attentive and helped us arrange for an ATV rental (highly recommend when in Naxos), and was always available over WhatsApp if we had any questions or requests.

One recommendation for when you go is to withdraw cash at the port/in the city. As the stay is paid in cash, you will want this in advance, otherwise the closest ATM is about a 20-30 minute walk away.

Overlooking the sea, 50m from an amazing beach the Ploes offers immaculate accommodation that is modern but retains a Greek authenticity. The room is small but offers you everything you could possibly want. It is very clean, with a great shower / air conditioning/ fridge and facilities to have breakfast on a beautiful spacious balcony overlooking the Aegean Sea.|The brothers who own it are understandably proud of there villas and are at hand to offer any advice or support if needed. Two great guys.|There are local amenities - Tavernas, restaurants supermarkets close by and a 10 to 15 minute leisurely stroll gives you access to lots of restaurants dotted along the coastline. Very easy to walk.|Next door is a hotel with a pool, set in nice gardens which allows you their facilities but naturally expect you to purchase drinks and possibly lunch from them.|Beach beds in Greece are now expensive and although €20 per day for two beds and a palapa may be considered too much by families on a budget, the beach is clean and very sandy giving you the option to put your towels down and relax.|Access into the sea is easy with a very gentle sandy slope.|Take a snorkel and look for the bigger turtles slightly off shore. Wir waren zu viert und zum ersten Mal im Ploes Seaside House. Cristos, der Besitzer, war jederzeit für uns erreichbar, ob persönlich oder über's Telefon (auch SMS) und unsere Anliegen hat er immer sofort erledigt. Er und seine Familie sind sehr sympathisch und hilfsbereit. So hatten wir immer eine funktionierende Klimaanlage, wussten wohin wir einen Ausflug unternehmen oder auch gut essen können. Er hat uns ohne weiteres pünktlich vom Flughafen abgeholt und am Abreisetag auch wieder dorthin gefahren. ||Die neue Anlage ist ruhig gelegen und das Haus ist stilvoll eingerichtet. Das Frühstück kann im "Ploes" selbst (Küchenecke mit Kühlschrank etc) oder alternativ für € 8,- im nebenan gelegenen Hotel Plaza Beach (mit Pool) eingenommen werden. Dort befindet sich auch die Busendhaltestelle für Fahrten in den Hauptort Naxos Chora sowie ein kleiner Supermarkt mit Busticketverkauf. Ebenso ist der nahegelegene Strand in wenigen Minuten zu Fuss erreichbar. ||Wir haben uns dort quasi als Teil der Familie gefühlt und würden hier jederzeit gerne wieder unsere Ferien verbringen.||||We were four and for the first time at Ploes Seaside House. So we always had a working air conditioner, knew where to go for a trip or where to eat well. He picked us up punctually from the airport and drove us there again on the day of departure. ||The new facility is quietly located and the house is stylishly furnished. The breakfast can be taken in the "Ploes" itself (kitchen corner with fridge etc.) or alternatively for € 8,- in the adjacent Hotel Plaza Beach (with pool). There is also the bus stop for trips to the capital Naxos Chora as well as a small supermarket with bus ticket sales.
