I wanna give my honest review on this apartment hotel, room, food and surroundings. This was our first time on Crete and i was surprised how friendly and lovely people are here. When we first arrived in Chania airport, Katerina was waiting for us there welcoming us to Crete. Had a wonderful journey to Haridimos as we talked alot and then we got to our room which was on 1st floor close to the pool. The room itself was really nice with everything needed, like kitchen, good bathroom, really comfy beds and a couch. We really loved how welcoming Katerina, Apostolis and they’re family is. Katerina did REALLY good food to die for. Apostolis is one of the best barmen who made really good coctails. There were some homeless cats close to haridimos by the road, and a lovely man taking care of them feeding them twice a day. I personally got to know him really well and help him feeding the cats. The sea was wonderfully warm and nice but there was a few stormy days when swimming was nearly impossible but there was also 3 days during our 2 week visit that the sea water was crystal clear just like on Balos beach which i really liked, because i snorkel alot. Katerina was really helpful with booking trips for us onto Balos beach and mountains where bus picked us up right beside Haridimos. I really wanna thank you Katerina, Apostolis and Gerald for having most lovely and wonderful time with us during the 2 week trip. Im really looking forward to get back at Haridimos on some summer vacation again. Our trip was in July. -Best regards....
Read moreWe have been coming to Haridimos for many years and as usual the welcome and hospitality is beyond compare. Katerina’s cooking is excellent and her rabbit stifado is perfection. She visited the fish market in the port of Souda and her sea bass was out of this world. If you tire of Katerina’s cooking (we can’t think why) there are many other eating establishments in the area from those with cloth napkins and a large wine list, to those by the beach sporting paper napkins and very drinkable local wine in litre bottles at bargain prices. |But be warned, every restaurant we have visited in Crete gives you a delicious dessert and a generous serving of Raki - the local firewater - at no extra charge. If you find the regular Raki a bit challenging, ask if they have Honey Raki, a much softer taste but still the same amount of alcohol. Haridimos had a small supply of Mommas lemon Raki which is similarly more gentle. |Haridimos is the ideal holiday home from home and are able to help with everything from hire cars to rooms in other parts of the island for that overnight excursion. |Katerina has...
