Anemomylos Taverna — Restaurant in Municipality of Platanias

Great Taverna on the Aegean sea!!! We sat literally on the beach and watched a tranquil sunset as we delicious grilled seafood.

As mentioned above the was delicious. We started off with some delicious house white wine. We ordered zucchini flowers for an appetizer and they did not fail to satisfy, they were scrumptious. My wife ordered the sea bass and I ordered the swordfish, both were grilled to perfection. The presentation was beautifully done and the taste was amazing.

Our server was extremely nice and very funny. Service was prompt and attentive. The entire staff was incredibly friendly.

As far as the atmosphere, it was on the Aegean sea at sunset. You couldn't have wanted more for at atmospheric setting while eating seafood and drinking wine. I recommend that you go during sunset...

The only reason I am not giving this establishment five stars is because the swordfish was only half the fillet and not really worth the price. The bottle of Raki was a lot smaller than the other table and they got an actual dessert where we got watermelon. We had a lovely evening at Anemomylos Taverna in Tavronitis. The atmosphere was warm and welcoming, perfect for a big group dinner. The table was quickly filled with a variety of starters – from dips to dolmades and fried bites – all fresh and flavorful, setting the tone for a generous Cretan meal.

The mains were hearty and satisfying. The steak with sauce and fries was well-cooked and filling, and the grilled dishes around the table were enjoyed by everyone. Portions are generous, so you won’t leave hungry. Wine and drinks flowed easily, and the staff made sure we were well taken care of throughout the night.

A good local venue, only a few minutes from our villa in Maleme. We enjoyed the sunbeds and the ability to have drinks on the beach, as well as the proximity of the dining option immediately above the beach. Sadly our lunchtime pizzas were a poor selection as the waiter eventually (+/- 25 mins after ordering) disclosed they had a problem with their oven. Eventually, one pizza arrived, and it was rather tasty. About 15 minutes later the second pizza arrived, and it to was most enjoyable - such a pity about the lack of communication and the unacceptable length of time it took to get any food.
