Mitos Villas — Hotel in Municipality of Platanias

We stayed with a group of friends infor about one week in September. The first thing we noticed upon arrival was how spectacular the villa was. The rooms were clean, comfortable and we had all the appointments in the spacious kitchens which allowed us to prepare meals either separately (two kitchens per villa) or together as a large group. There's also a grill in the back that we used to prepare fresh seafood from a nearby supermarket.

Then there's the pool area- it's even more spectacular than the photos, especially at sunset, or in the evening when the lights come on.

The location is nothing short of perfect. A fairly short drive from the airport you'll find yourself within walking distance to a bakery, numerous restaurants and a 10 minute walk to the beach. It's a great place to be yourself exploring the area with wineries and a craft brewery just a short and scenic drive away. Several world class beaches and hiking trails are a little further out but well worth exploring. We even managed to catch a local soccer match in Chania.

The owner Michalis and his wife live next door but give all the privacy you need while being available for advice or to help with anything you need. On our final night he cooked us a delicious lamb roast on an open fire. I can still taste it! Really, or biggest problem was not wanting to leave.

We had the opportunity to stay in Mitos for a week in May. The area of the accommodation is unique, especially if you are looking for a place to relax and recharge your batteries! this is the ideal place in Crete. Highly recommended! We stayed in the Theseus villa which is a spotless house. The interior area is spacious with a fully equipped kitchen connected with the living and the dining room. You can enjoy a spacious bathroom and super anatomical mattresses in the bedrooms. It is important to mention that If you are travelling with a toddler there is a cot available if you need one. There is a large patio with a moving roof, a big dining table that nicely overlooks the pool. There is one large pool for adults and one for small children. A small playground with grass is perfectly placed after the pool while the surrounding area is with olive trees and grass. You can enjoy in the mornings wonderful sounds of birds. Our stay at Mitos Villas was super nice! It is ideal place for relaxing in a peaceful surrounding full of olive trees. There is a beautiful sandy beach near-by (about 10 min walk) where you can swim but also enjoy beautiful sunsets. Villas are situated only 25 minutes by car from the beautiful old town of Chania and the spot is also convenient for setting off on excursions in the west part of the island. Villas are beautifully designed and decorated and equipped with all type of amenities for a comfortable stay (including high-quality mattresses which are seldomly found in rented houses!). We also enjoyed the pool a lot and we have had the chance to have a beautiful barbeque night at the garden. Mihalis and Polly are super hosts!
