The best place in Pylos without question. Lovely, quiet location right at the end of the town, perched on the cliff, beneath the castle walls.
Room 300 is like magic. On the first floor at the end with double aspect wall to wall windows with electric shutters so you can go to sleep seeing the sea all around you. Interesting decor with a sea theme , wooden ceiling , marble tops, waterfall shower with a porthole looking far out to sea and a nespresso machine. Interesting , comfortable and unique.
Charming staff , plentiful breakfast, and swimming off the terrace was really lovely.
We went end of May. The weather was quite windy , too windy to lie out and the hotel’s season, as they point out on the website, does not start until mid-June. You can see why. The beach bar was not open and the deck area was not ready and there was a bit of drilling. There is also no restaurant in the hotel . It really doesn’t matter as the town is right there with a plethora of eateries but be aware.
However , it was such completely lovely escape it does not deserve anything...
Read moreWe loved it. We stumbled across this place having changed travel plans, boy are we glad. The hotel surpassed our expectations. We spent one night in the castle view room, which was pleasant, although the bathroom was a little small, however you get a private court yard which was nice. We then moved to the junior Suite, just fantastic. It reminded us of rooms we have stayed in whilst travelling South America and the Caribbean. Yes the hotel could do with a few touch ups here and there, however the staff (including the conceirge dog) more than make up for this. Marianna was delightful, and very helpful. Mr Spiros in the breakfast room was incredibly helpful and attentive, could not fault his service and the chef was brilliant to. Due to weather the hotel had to pack the outer furniture a little early as there was an unusually bad storm due to hit. The hotel is over the sea which is incredible for views of the sea and fish within. I would...
Read moreOf all the hotels we stayed at during our 2-week trip through the Peloponnesos, this was by far the best. The hotel is not near the water, but IN the water, and one swims from the beach bar at the first floor right into the lagoon. But the most stunning experience is the breakfast, you have to have been there to believe it. Ham and eggs, pastries, all kinds of breads, all kind of fruits, and local specialties kept coming because "they wanted us to taste everything". The hotel is at the end of a small road right under the castle. Again, the views are just stunning: the calm blue waters of the lagoon closed off by a series of islands. The rooms have balconies overlooking the sea below and excellent air-conditioning. The receptionist and the breakfast personnel are very friendly and personal. We hope we can come back to the Peloponnesos soon , and then the Karalis beach hotel will be our prime...
