The Archaeological Museum of Pylos is located inside the impressive Niokastro (New Fortress), which already makes the visit feel special. The museum itself is small but beautifully arranged and easy to explore. It focuses on the ancient history of the region, especially finds from nearby sites like the Palace of Nestor and Iklaina. The exhibits are modern and well-lit, with good descriptions in both Greek and English. The staff are friendly and happy to answer questions. It doesn't take long to visit maybe 30 minutes - but it's full of interesting artifacts and stories. Plus, you get to walk around the fortress afterward and enjoy great views of Navarino Bay. Definitely worth a stop if...

There's a beautiful church on the site as well, which could have done with some...

Museum is located inside Pylos’ castle and thus you can combine with other...
