Stayed here for nine nights with my partner. What a beautiful hotel, very modern, always seen staff cleaning round about the hotel…especially the toilets! Room is fine size wise for a couple. I forgot to get the our house keepers name but she was lovely - very pleasant, she cleaned on level 1 at the 3145 side! ||The hotel has everything you need really, we went out once to Rhodes old town…10 mins on the bus! I will say though as Helea is for families i would of liked to of seen more pool side entertainment, i get the hotel is trying to be ‘classy’ but you can still have that image whilst having better entertainment during the day, the music played at the bar was garbage for the most part, i get there is also a kids waterpark at the entrance but it would of been nice to of seen water sports/exercise classes/ maybe some games…growing up I went to a few 5 star hotels and i have great memories of running across the pool on float things racing other people or playing volleyball etc - if adults want a quiet relaxing hotel they should stay next door at the adults only. I have young nieces (9/12) and i feel if they were to come to this hotel they would be bored during the day. ||The food at the buffet - there is plenty of choice. My partner thought the food was quite good, i am an extremely picky eater on holiday (that’s not the hotels fault), more so now because im pregnant so i just stuck to pastas mostly however, i often found this to be really bland, a serious lack of flavour/salt. However, every day for lunch we ate at the beach bar for a gyros or at the snack bar both food there was 10/10. The crepe and ice cream station is a great touch! |Two down falls about the food i have is for 9 days, i didn’t eat one bit of food that was hot, it was all lukewarm this concerns me a bit, even at the al carte restaurant - if your food is getting made fresh how can it be lukewarm, this is me nit picking probably but i prefer my food hot so i know its fresh and hasn’t been siting about despite this though it did seem like food was always getting changed over in the buffet. Another thing is the lack of personal hygiene from others (again not the hotels fault) as there is a hand sanitizer machine at the buffet but i seen only ONE person use this the full time i was there, the reason this may be though is because there is only one machine in the buffet and it’s not very visible for people to see so they could be doing with more and maybe signs and putting them where people can actually see them, that in my opinion is waiting for an outbreak of something. Everyone should be using hand sanitizer prior to using a buffet considering the amount of people who come and go from it, touching all sorts. |On a side note, i had contacted guest services with some concerns about the food i.e if all diary was pasteurised etc - very helpful and accommodating. One night the head chef came out and explain this to me as well. |No complaints about the a la carte restaurant really, well only one - i felt it was quite rushed like you’d just finish your starter and 2 minutes later the main was out same with desert. But all the food was nice there my partner rated the Matsi 10/10.||The queues to the bars were long, the bar at the pool isn’t big enough to have more than two people working it in, the bar is the lobby at night is always long and slow. Didn’t have any issues with service else where, the beach bar at night is where we always went they often had live music on and the staff there were all lovely - big shout out to diana - amuda bar and Jimmy at the bar in the lobby!||I feel the hotel is trying to make it a five star but it’s just not quite there yet, the buffet food needs to improve i’m just thinking back to other five stars i have stayed and it isn’t on par and the services at the bar. The staff i feel really make this place, we didn’t come across any rude staff really, all bright smiling, happy to help. Another shout out to Marife the housekeeper who cleans the toilets at the beach bar, lovely women and some job she has. She was always working really hard, i know she finished at 6pm and no one was there to clean the toilets until she started back the next morning.||Overall the hotel is lovely, it appears they are always taking on the feedback so the only way is up for them. I feel sometimes in these reviews people are...
Read moreThis was our third stay at Helea, and once again it exceeded all expectations. In fact, the experience has only improved compared to previous years.
From the moment we arrived, we were warmly welcomed. It genuinely feels like coming home by now.
What makes Helea so special are the thoughtful details. For example, upon arrival our daughter received a little beach toy set, while we found a personal welcome note waiting in our room. These small gestures set the tone for the entire stay.
The food is absolutely exceptional. The main restaurant offers an impressive variety every day, with dishes that are both plentiful and delicious. The three à la carte restaurants are of such high quality that I would describe them as fine-dining, even Michelin-worthy. A notable improvement since last year is that snacks and light meals are now available until midnight. Something that makes the culinary experience even more complete.
The friendliness and professionalism of the staff truly stand out. Everyone goes above and beyond to make guests feel comfortable and cared for.
The hotel itself is stunning: the rooms are modern and beautifully designed, with high-quality materials and an architectural style that feels elegant and contemporary.
Helea also offers a wide range of activities, from an escape room and funfair games to a cinema, live shows, guided excursions, and water activities. Unlike many other resorts, however, there is never any pressure to book extras such as wellness treatments, excursions, or photoshoots. Everything is available, but always offered in a relaxed and non-intrusive way.
As a true family resort, Helea is perfect for guests with children. The waterpark and entertainment team ensure kids have an unforgettable holiday. At the same time, the resort also caters beautifully to those seeking peace and relaxation. We highly recommend the swim-up rooms, which we have chosen for three years in a row. They provide the perfect balance of privacy and convenience: your child can enjoy the pool just steps from your terrace, while you relax on a sunbed with all the amenities of your room within reach. The minibar is restocked daily with premium drinks, another thoughtful touch.
Housekeeping deserves special praise. Rooms are cleaned thoroughly every day if you wish. And when I say thorough, I truly mean it. I have a touch of OCD when it comes to cleanliness, and I was deeply impressed. I never once saw a speck of dust. We even witnessed staff scrubbing terrace furniture and using high-pressure cleaners around the main pool area in the evenings. The effort and attention to detail are remarkable.
The beds are very comfortable, and the pillows were also excellent. Since this year, the hotel has introduced an app that makes everything even easier: guests can book restaurants, check activities, or request housekeeping and maintenance, all with just a few taps.
Lastly, I want to highlight the leadership within the hotel. The restaurant manager, Konstantinos (Kostas), is truly exceptional. The way he motivates and supports his team is inspiring. I have never seen such seamless teamwork and mutual respect among staff as I did here, and it is clear that this is only possible under outstanding leadership. The General Manager is also frequently present, taking the time to engage personally with his staff.
In conclusion: Helea continues to set the bar for luxury family resorts. With its world-class dining, exceptional staff, stunning design, and a perfect balance of relaxation and activities, it remains a place we will gladly return to...

There was nothing in writing to state there was additional cost so contractual obligations have not been met as it wasn’t the night before. It was early Friday morning we checked in. We didn’t request a refund 3 days into our stay, from the night we was checking in we asked several times to speak to a manager and the answer from the staff was NO. The day after several times we tried speaking to a manager and when they got in touch and sat down, he apologised and said he will see what we can do and to wait an hour. We didn’t have a response until 10 hours later. The message on booking.com stated massage we can offer you but it could have been miscommunication but that isn’t the problem here.
I am very disappointed by your response, especially as it does not reflect the service we actually received during our stay. While you claim to have fulfilled your responsibilities, that was not our experience at all. In fact, your staff gave us conflicting information — what was written later was different from what we were told in person. This inconsistency was frustrating and made us feel completely unsupported.
We asked for accountability for the issues we faced, but instead we were met with avoidance. If you’re unable to provide the proper resolution, the least you could do is acknowledge the impact your service had on our experience. We didn’t feel taken care of, and that should matter to any business that values its guests.
Please take this feedback seriously, as we expected more from a hotel that claims to offer responsible service.
The booking team states one thing and one of the reception staff was ever so rude. Even though our room was ready and stated if it is ready we are haply to provide on arrival, we were told no and you have to pay another 350€ even though we booked for the same day. We have it in writing and after the staff didn’t want to call the manager and stated if we cant afford it to leave it and sleep on the sofa until they are ready to give the room even though we paid for a suite with swim up pool. The manager also did not help whatsoever and had to keep chasing for responses. We were so polite about it and waiting to see what they could do but nothing. Even guest services rang us and was shocked at what we went through and how much we paid even though our room was ready. What a waste of £2000. At 10pm it was too late to order water to a room, the whole staff eventually was told not to deal with us and they all knew about the situation and we did nothing wrong. Probably one of the worst experiences travelling and has put us off visiting such a beautiful country. From vlogging our monthly holiday trips, this for sure will be told everywhere on how we were treated by the staff and manager who did not care how we were treated and left at 1am with no room and having to make the choice to pay 350€ just to not ruin my partners birthday and our anniversary as we had no where to sleep for 14 hours and expected us to sit on a sofa when our room was ready but they didn’t want to give it. If there was no rooms available it would be understandable but our exact room was ready. For such a big company, this was shocking to see. We had to walk out the hotel. Every staff member does not want to sort it as they have been told by the manager. Will definitely be taking this further after being spoken to in such a patronising way this is not acceptable! Such a beautiful hotel but the service and experience has been the worst ever and never ever have been through...
