Louzoia Bay — Hotel in Municipality of Rhodes

I’m being generous with my rating. 5 of us stayed at Louzoia Bay in September for a birthday celebration. Our stay didn’t start off great as we had to stand outside of the home for an hour with all of our things and groceries because cleaning was still underway. We’d agreed on a 3pm check in the week prior. They finished cleaning at 4pm.

The home has a lovely view and a beautiful pool. The bedrooms are comfortable and bathrooms are small but have what you need. The on suite bathroom doors do not open all the way, as the sink is in the way. We appreciated linens and plenty of towels. Hand soap would be nice when staying a week or longer. Paper goods were limited esp when a midweek cleaning was performed. It seemed as if they gave up half way though, cleaning rags left behind, limited toilet paper restock and dirty linens in one bedroom. Most places do not provide paper goods so we appreciate what we got.

An FAQ book would be super helpful as we struggled with certain things in the home and cable didn’t work at all. Door handles were broken including the front door. The outdoor furniture was rusted and terribly uncomfortable. It was the clear the photos are stock images. The pool was freezing even though the listing says it’s heated. Upon inquiry someone arrived later to turn on the heater, making the pool way more enjoyable.

And lastly, there was a very strong sewage smell in the main living area and grew stronger in bathrooms. It didn’t ruin the trip but we were often airing out the whole house.

It’s an easy walk down to the beach but a steep walk back. I recommend a car as the area is very hilly and the bus stop isn’t an easy hike up to main road. We also had trouble locating the house. Taxis had no idea and one set of friends were dumped a couple roads back.

Wir waren in der grössten von mehreren bauähnlichen Villas der Louzoia Bay. Ein grandioser Blick über das Meer, egal ob von der langen Tafel für 10 Personen, vom Sonnendeck mit genug Platz für die 10 Liegestühle, vom sehr geräumigen Jaccuzzi der Platz für Locker 4-6 Personen bietet, von den beiden extrem bequemen Hängematten oder natürlich vom Infinity Pool aus, der auch für echte Schwimmer gross genug ist, um ausgiebige Bahnen zu ziehen. Der BBQ Bereich samt Bartheke ist ebenfalls sehr gross und verfügt ausserdem über ein eigenes Waschbecken und einen kleinen Kühlschrank. Den Pool konnten wir im April auf sensationelle 28 Grad heizen, so dass dieser entspannt auch für kleine Kinder nutzbar war - die Temperatur des Jaccuzzi war entsprechend noch höher und konnte leicht angepasst werden. Die Innenräume wirken allesamt sehr neu und gepflegt und sind mit viel Liebe zum Detail sehr stilsicher eingerichtet. Die offene Wohnküche verfügt über alles was man braucht und von der Spühlmaschine über den Sandwichmaker bis zur Mikrowelle läuft alles einwandfrei. 4 der 5 Schlafzimmer haben direkten Meerblick und alle haben ein eigenes Bad / WC sowie eine eigene Klimaanlage (2 der 5 Zimmer sind ausserdem mit einem eigenen TV ausgestattet). Schiebetür auf, aufs Meer blicken und in den Pool springen - so stellt man sich das vor. Die zusätzlichen Fliegengittertüren sorgen überall für frische Luft und angenehmen Schlaf. Die Lage könnte dabei kaum besser sein. Der grosse Strand Vlycha Beach liegt direkt vor einem und ist in entspannten 3 Minuten zu Fuss zu erreichen. Mit dem Auto ist man in 5 Minuten in Lindos und in einer Minute bei einem der grössten Supermärkte der Gegend. Direkt daneben lohnt sich der Weg zur Konditorei Zucchero, die einfach nur weltklasse ist. Nach 2 Minuten Fahrt finden sich ausserdem auch in Kalathos ein paar Restaurants. Ein Auto ist prinzipiell sehr zu emofehlen (natürlich verfügt die Villa über eigene Parkplätze). Besonders hervorzuheben sind die Gastgeber: Giannis & Violetta waren zu jeder Zeit für uns erreichbar, haben sich um jede Frage sofort gekümmert und für uns im Handumdrehen einen Arzttermin ausgemacht, zu dem uns Giannis zwecks Übersetzung sogar begleitet hat.
