We had a great time in the Hotel Benois!
We really enjoyed our time and we are looking forward to coming back!
Breakfast: The breakfast was great in comparison to the restaurant of other places we stayed in greece.
There is a buffet with handmade sweets and cakes. They were really delicious! Also they have a Varieté of salty food, jougurt, fresh fruit. The fresh fruit was also great! Not only banana and apples like in other places :p
They offer daily different options for breakfast, so it does no get repetitive after a few days.
The only thing that it could be improved is to have fresh orange juice instead of the juice of the bottle.
Furthermore, the coffee from the machines is not that great. The nescafe Maschine is OK, the other one is really not tasty. Simple fresh made filter cafe would be much better.
Restaurant: The hotel has a restaurant where you can have great food but also some normal stuff like pizza, club sandwich or pasta. We ate a couple of times there and the food was good.
The service is always super nice! You can order food all day long until late at night.
They offer also great cocktails and coffee. The Moskau Mule and Aperol Spritz were great!
Hotel in general:
The hotel is a small hotel with everything you need. The staff is really nice and helpful. The hotel is nicely decorated with a kind of boho style. Very stylish.
The pool is big enough for it not to get crowded and there are enough comfortable sun beds with shade. We were there in end of May though.
Very nice calmed hotel, perfect to chill and relax! We loved that there was no music at the pool. Not a party hotel, perfect for relaxing.
Location: It is in Galissas, basicslly on the opposite side of the main town Ermoupolis, 15 min by car (Taxi approx. 10-15 Eur).
The beach is only a few meters away. You just have to cross a small street and you are there. There are no hotel sun beds at the beach, but it is possible to rent. They are a bit expensive though (10 -20 Euro for two sun beds depending on the type).
The beach is great, with very calmed shallow water, you can walk in a few meters into the sea and then swim with out a problem. It is a sandy beach without stones. It gave us the feeling of being at a lake. Perfect also for families and small children.
There are only a few restaurants in galissas but for a few days it is more than ok. There are couple of good restaurants right next to benois' reataurant, one on the beach and a couple of other small places. Pharmacy, Mini market and a small tourist Shop are also a few...
Read moreThis charming hotel exceeded all of our expectations. As mentioned in many other reviews, the staff were always very friendly and helpful. The hotel is modern and creates a very relaxing atmosphere. Our room was spacious and very clean. The location was also perfect, only a two minute walk to Galissas beach, one of the best beaches on the entire island. The pool area was also perfect, there were always enough sun loungers available and the pool was a nice size even with the many children who enjoyed it. We were here as a couple but many families were here with their children. We feel like this hotel is a great option for both couples and families. There is also an optional shutter service from the hotel which takes guests directly to and from the port.
However the true star of the show was the hotel’s restaurant. We tried several other tavernas within walking distance of the hotel and by the end of the week we only ate at the hotel restaurant. Nothing could beat the quality and fair prices. The restaurant has many dishes to offer, so many that we weren’t tired of the restaurant after eating lunch and dinner there for almost a week. The dishes were wonderfully prepared and we also enjoyed the option to charge our meals to our room as hotel guests. It just made our entire stay so relaxing to go from our room to the pool and then to the restaurant without having to leave...
Read moreHotel Benois in Galissas, Syros, has its positives, but also some significant drawbacks. The location is excellent, with Galissas Beach just a short 100-meter walk away, making it very convenient for beachgoers. The hotel also features a nice restaurant and a pleasant pool area with comfortable loungers, perfect for relaxing.
However, our stay was marred by a few issues. The room was okay, but every time we entered, we were met with an unpleasant smell of drains. Additionally, the bed was extremely uncomfortable and quite small for a double bed. The breakfast provided was just ok, and the staff were friendly enough. However, we were disappointed that when we were escorted to our room on the first floor, no one offered to help with our luggage. We had to carry our suitcases ourselves, even as the staff walked past them.
Another downside was the paper-thin walls. We could hear every footstep and conversation in the corridors, which was quite disruptive. On the plus side, the hotel is close to a few local restaurants, a small mini-market, and a snack bar, adding to the convenience.
In summary, while Hotel Benois offers a good location and some nice amenities, the issues with the room comfort, noise, and lack of service when it came to our luggage detracted from the...
