We were disappointed when we arrived as we booked and paid more for a room with a "sea view" and when we went onto the balcony we discovered that this wasn't the case as you can see in the pictures uploaded. We queried the room with Tony as when we checked our booking it said it came with tea/coffee making facilities, a washer, a hairdryer and an iron but our room had none of these things! He offered a kettle and mugs so we could make a coffee and asked if we'd like the other things (we'd luckily brought a hairdryer and iron with us) but he said that the room did have a sea view!! Maybe if we peered over the next balcony and if the trees weren't there, then vaguely, in the distance the sea may have been visible but unfortunately it wasn't the case. We felt a bit cheated at this and mis-sold as the reason why we paid more money for the room was that it was advertised with this as a selling point. ||Saying this, Tony was a nice man and the breakfast was very filling and the location is good for the beach. But just be aware not to pay more for a "sea view".||||Also, the bed was very uncomfortable, even by basic Greek standards! We regularly stay at basic apartments but the bed was one of the most uncomfortable we've ever slept in! It kept collapsing when we turned over in the night! We must just have had a bad room as we were recommended here by family who stayed the...
Read moreHave you ever experienced a film, song, or book you totally loved, and felt it was hard to describe to others why? Same thing with writing a review about Peter & Tony – words can't properly convey the experience.||||The location is obviously perfect – right on the beach, next to cafes, restaurants, and mini markets. The bus stop is also 30 meters away. The spacious rooms include everything you might need – I particularly liked that the refrigerator was in a separate room, and so it didn't bother at night.||||But remember: it's about the experience. Words can't properly convey how heartwarming and friendly everyone is. It's all about helping you feel not like a paying client, but like a family guest. Indeed, staying at Peter & Tony's feels very much like visiting a friendly family for a few days.||||Particular mention has to be made about the breakfast. Quite simply, it's the best breakfast experience you've ever had. Just sit at the cafe and enjoy the morning breeze looking at cats roaming the nearby street, while Tony and the ever-smiling Vivi bring you anything you want – coffee, croissants, toasts, juice, your pick. ||||If we ever travel again to Galissas, I certainly know...
Read moreSyros is one of the Greek islands that is off the major tourist route and as a result Gallissas is a wonderful place to stay. From the moment we were met at the port by Tony until he put us in a taxi 6 days later it was a great experience. We had booked the front 2 rooms over looking the beach and we were not disappointed. We travelled with 2 teenage kids and spent time togther on our balconies that share a small fence. The rooms were simple but all that we needed, the beds were comfortable and the breakfasts were giant. Each morning we woke to the smell of Tony's bakery and cafe downstairs and we would wander down and choose what we wanted for breakfast, from eggs to chocolate crossiants to baguettes and juices and coffees or all of the above ! ||||The location is great, a short walk to the beach and near to some great restaurants. Tony's Mum runs the souvenir shop downstairs and everyday she would great us and on one occassion provide a large plate of watermelon. If you want to experience some Syros hospitality then this is the...
