Evagelistria Apartments — Hotel in Municipality of Western Samos

Have just returned - had a wonderful 2 weeks. Very relaxing secluded location near to beach and a short walk to tavernas & shops. Rania and Dimitri were great - even leaving a bottle of wine in the fridge each week! The pool was larger than I expected from the travel brochure and had sunbeds and umbrellas (free!) Air con' was available but we managed without even in August! Appartments were basic but very clean - sheets and towels changed 3x a week - excellent for Greece.||We didn't hire a car as there were 6 of us, we had hoped to get around by bus/boat but there is no reliable public transport other than taxis. The organised trips were quite expensive and the round the island tour was cancelled because of low numbers - everyone else must have had cars! The barbecue boat trip was fab and there was masses of food.||Our favourite tavernas were Vrosy (formerly Rina's), and Akrogiali. Leonardis and the Blue Bucket were also very good. If you like to eat where the Greeks go then try Taka -Taka - a souvlaki bar where they serve homemade retsina. Don't bother with Nick the Greeks - the service was terrible and Nick a total letch - yuck!||We had a briliant time and would definately go back to Samos, in fact most of the people we spoke to on the plane were on...

Great place run by the most friendly family. Very service minded and always greets you and asks if everything is good 😊. The room was very clean (cleaned twice in a week with new towels and sheets) and also spacious. ||Our room had a nice balcony overlooking the pool where you could sit and enjoy breakfast or a drink. Small kitchen with the most important utensils that would allow you to cook a dinner. Also coffee brewer and kettle. Only negative thing was the bed that could have used an extra thin mattress on top.||The owners also have a car and scooter rental (Dream rent a car) where we rented scooters. Scooters were delivered right outside the door and it was also OK to return them late at night. We also got tips about great places to visit which was very appreciated.
