Tavern Angelos — Restaurant in Municipality of Western Samos

Weve been visiting Kampos for 3 years now. Our favorite restaurant is Angelos. Consistently delicious and generous portions of freshly prepared food. The chicken souvlaki is moist and flavorful. The calamari is fresh and juicy, lightly breaded and never oily. Our favorite salad is the Samos salad, a variation of typical Greek salad but with capers and sun dried tomatoes Open air dining right on the beach looking out to the waterThe prices are reasonable and the staff are friendly and welcoming. Just one breath away from the sea lies this beautiful tavern. We stayed at Samos for 12 days, and we ate there the 7. In short....huge portions, family kitchen, great quality local ingredients, friendly staff, almost cheap prices, parking space, vast view of the Aegean sea! Either this is one of the places hyped without any reason, or we just had unlucky Saturday evening. The Tavern was totally booked out, only 2 waiters running around. Of course stressed and not very friendly. This still could be acceptable but the food was really bad. Octopus was hard as shoe toes, fish dishes had barely any taste and evens the potato chips were only half cooked. Save your time and money. Enjoy your time somewhere else....
