We ate there 3 times during this year’s 6 day stay in Drios. It is one of the favorite places of one of our friends who lives in Drios both for coffee, a drink or to eat. The elevated waterside location is idyllic with the view over the sea and the islands of Naxos, Ios and Sikinos in the distance. It is lovely to eat listening to the sound of the waves rolling onto Drios beach below. The food is always good. Interestingly the excellent Gouna (sun dried mackerel) has gone up from €10 to €12 between 2022 and 2023. The fried anchovies are also very good and reasonable value at €9. They serve a huge Greek Salad and absolutely wonderful wholemeal bread from Marmara. We regularly went for a filter coffee in the morning during our Drios stay. Read moreI stayed here a week and I've lived very beautiful moments in this little hotel. Great location, in front of the sea with a great veranda to make breakfast and spend time in absolutely relax. Rooms are small but clean, and the air conditioner works well. Instead, after asking if we could take a just-vacated table, the Maître D’ seemed to take offense and ignored us for almost three hours while 15 other tables came and went.|I’ve owned and run restaurants myself, and I would never treat a paying customer this way. My philosophy is “kill them with kindness”—it keeps guests happy and business flowing. We stayed polite and smiled throughout, but it was clear we’d been singled out.|The food was plain and uninspired, and the long wait made it worse. Nice setting or not, beware: if you get on the wrong side of the Maître D’, you may feel...
