Taverna Agyra — Restaurant in Paros Municipality

My wife and I dined twice at this "really good food" and "really nice people working there" establishment during our week-long stay in Drios, on Paros island. After we ate dinner there on our last evening on the island, my wife said she wished we'd eaten every dinner there. Christina, the owner, is a pretty and pleasant young woman who owns the restaurant, Spiros the chef produces tasty dishes, everyone else working there is smiling and gracious. The Moussaka and Souvlaki dishes are Greek standards, but just seemed to taste better here than at other restaurants where we ordered those dishes. Tasty and very ample servings. Variety of cocktails, wines and desserts available. We also found the prices to be more than reasonable, perhaps because they are not on the main round the island highway (you need to turn off of that and go a block or so to find this hidden gem). The good reviews of Taverna Agyra made us curious, so we decided to pay it a visit. And we were not disappointed at all. I would give 10 stars if I could.

We were warmly welcomed by Christina and accompanied throughout the evening. Everything we ordered (we had greek salad, chicken and grilled sardines as main dishes) was exceptionally delicious. However, the best part was the fries. I can't remember the last time I had such outstandingly delicious fries. That wasn't what we came to the tavern for, but to anyone who goes there: you have to order fries!! At the end, we were offered to have dessert on the house.

Overall, it was one of our best restaurant...

The most welcoming and friendly experience we had on Paros. The staff is super nice and takes perfect care of you.

The food is simply OUTSTANDING from the simple starters to the delicious daily special, everything is so much better and more refined than in other restaurant we visited before. Textures and tastes will leave you breathless.

One of the best octopus dishes I ever had and almost perfect "special" meatballs in tomato sauce that blew us away.

We'll be back tomorrow as we luckily got some more days in Paros.
